My Favorite Multipurpose Book/Tablet Stand
I bought this for the primary purpose of holding my Samsung Galaxy S2 Tab Nook tablet in both the portrait and landscape modes. I had previously bought the Amazon Basics Adjustable Tablet Stand for this purpose, but there was not enough support on the back of the tablet for me to use the upper left and right parts of the touch screen in either portrait or landscape form without it wobbling.AmazonBasics Adjustable Tablet Stand The Amazon stand did, however, work fine for just viewing or reading. It also worked well with some games that I play, that this Actto stand won't work with. However, this Actto Portable Reading Stand works quite well when I am tapping or swiping, on the screen. It's solidly built and provides all the support I need to use the tablet either in portrait or landscape mode. The lip of the stand is wide enough for my tablet in it's MoKo EVA Shock Proof case. MoKo Tab S2 8.0 Case - EVA Kids Shock Proof Convertible Handle Light Weight Super Protective Stand Cover Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 / S2 Nook 8.0 Tablet, GREEN Other stands for the purpose of holding tablets just didn't have a wide enough lip for my tablet with it's case. However, I also got this Actto stand for actually reading real books too! It works great with almost any size book that I want to read. The arms that hold the pages open can be moved so you can turn the pages. You can also adjust the stand so you can read at an angle that is comfortable for you. There are non-skid bands on the back supporting arms and also on the arms that hold the pages down so there is no slipping. The stand when folded up could be put in a backpack but it would not be able to fit in the Ibagbar Durable Vintage Multifunction Canvas Shoulder Bag Business Messenger Bag Ipad Bag Tote Bag Satchel Bag for Men and Women Black messenger bag that my tablet with the MoKo EVA Shock Proof case can fit in. If I wanted to take a stand with me to use, I'd probably take the AmazonBasics Adjustable Tablet Stand because it can fold up easily and fit in small spaces in the messenger bag.I am very happy with the Actto stand. It can be moved easily from place to place with the tablet or book safely on it. It is a good multipurpose book/tablet stand although I'm sure the developer did not have tablets in mind when it was created! It is sturdy, made of what looks like a high impact plastic that allows for a slight flexibility, meaning that it won't break as easily as a ridged plastic would. For my purposes, it's the ideal stand.

An Outstanding Bookstand
I have a book that is 2097 pages long (2" thick and 5 lbs) and I have had a very hard time finding a bookstand that could remove the weight and strain of holding it to read. I had purchased a stand on Amazon that cost $190 but although it was a floor model built of super strong metal with arms that could be used to hold the book in various positions, the platform holding the book kept sliding down from the book's weight. There was no way to tighten the arm supports to keep the book from constantly wanting to slide off the book's reading platform. Then I found the BestBookStand Actto BST-09 Green 180 angle adjustable and Portable Reading Stand on Amazon for $10.98. I thought for that amount I could afford to give it a try and would you believe: it is perfect. The stand is probably meant for fairly standard size books so my 2097 page book creates a very small issue for me but does not in any way detract from my 5 star rating. It is an issue I can work around. The issue is with the two clear plastic page holders at the bottom of the stand. Since the book's pages are super the holders are necessary to keep the pages in place. However, when I get to the high end page numbers, like 1698, the page holder on the left is so tight against the pages that I cannot insert the page from the right when I am trying to turn the page. I really do not know how these holders could be modified to be more flexible but I doubt it is a necessary fix since the stand it really for smaller books.Overall, it is a terrific bookstand and as the website says: it "Promotes proper posture for better spinal health". The best $10.98 I ever spent.

Stylish, versatile and portable!
I first ordered this book stand on 11/2018 and have used it for school, work and other everyday tasks and it still holds up well a little over five years later! A few observations include...Personal pros:-The calming yet nondescript green color ensures it does its job without being too distracting.-Its light weight enhances its portability.-The (un)locking handle is easy to use and the back arm can be adjusted a full 180 degrees, which allows for a plethora of reading angles and is a fantastic selling point. The handle also locks the arm into place with an audible snap and remains as such until it is adjusted again.-While lightweight, the stand easily accommodates paperback books, including larger volumes in the hard sciences.-The clear page holders are great for unobtrusively allowing you to hold and still see text.Personal cons:-While lightweight, it was difficult to balance hardback books, including larger volumes in the hard sciences. As such, it was necessary to increase the viewing angle and/or stabilize the stand from the front, lest it and/or the book(s) fall over.-The raised middle can make it awkward to turn wider pages at a straight angle, necessitating a slight tilt lest the bottom of the pages rip.-The page holders swing side to side which works for lighter books, but since heavier books tend to topple the stand without adjusting the angle, the holders tend to be redundant since the book is being held open by gravity anyway.Overall this stand is ideal for (stacked) pages, medium-lightweight paperback books and clipboards, and some hardback textbooks. Lightweight with several possible reading angles, a low profile and responsive adjustment mechanisms but with tradeoffs including limited page holder options, an awkward middle bump and being better used for medium-lighter books, this book stand is an easy 4/5!
