Better than a competitor!
I retired recently and started taking 3 walks a day. I have 3 dogs ranging from 15 to 90 lbs & each dog gets 1 walk per day. My old Flexi leash is 20+ years old and wasn't designed for large dogs so I opted to buy a replacement. There are so many options with a range in prices. Initially, I opted for a brand (not this one) that also makes other pet items and the brand name was familiar to me. That leash only lasted 5 months until it locked permanently and I had to throw it away. I will compare this new leash to the known brand which I had to throw away.Immediately, this leash felt sturdy, with a nice weight in my hand. The other brand felt cheap, lightweight, and flimsy. This leash strap pulls in and out with ease as my dogs run around & explore. The other leash felt flimsy as it pulled in and out and I questioned when it would stop retracting. (The old leash permanently locked itself after only 5 months of use.)The button to stop the leash and release it is comfortable to push and release as I control my dogs while walking. Someone's review said the button was awkward, which I found the opposite to be true. Also, my other leash kept auto-locking when the dogs jerked it or I pulled quickly due to an upcoming hazard. Auto-locking is unsafe and you lose control right when you need it. This leash's button pushes and releases naturally to give you the control exactly when you need it. It seems sturdy and long-lasting. The other one kept auto-locking until it auto-locked permanently after only 5 months of use. I haven't used the lock on this leash as I rarely find that feature necessary. I only use an extendable leash when I want to allow my dogs freedom to run, but still be safe. I use a regular leash / lead for more controlled situations (groomer, vet's office, etc.).If you have a chewer, this leash does come with a short extension that is chew-proof to attach at the end of the leash. I haven't used it as I don't need it, but it certainly would come in handy with a new puppy learning to walk on a leash.I've only used it for 5 walks so far, but I really feel it'll last.

Good leash for my cats
I've been using this leash with the PetSafe Come with Me Kitty harness (my favorite cat harness) for about two weeks now and I'm really happy with it. It's small, light, and comfortable to hold for me, and it seems to work great for the cats. Here are my main thoughts on using it with a cat:Length: I got the 16' one and it's been great. We use it primarily in the back yard, and honestly my cats don't run roam very far from me--they have not reached the end of the leash yet. The thing I like about it is that they can chase grasshoppers without getting yanked back :-), and if I want to stand in the shade while they wander in the sun, it's a lot easier than with my shorter leash that came with the harness. However, I am glad that I started with a shorter leash when they first went outside so I could keep an eye on what they liked to chew and they had less room to bolt back when they were more skittish. BUT this leash has a perfectly functional pause/lock button, so I'm sure it would have worked fine to use from the start.Retractable "pull": Since it's retractable, it is always pulling gently on the cats (unless of course I have it in "lock" with extra slack out). The first day we used it the cats were a bit confused, because I used to use a similarly gentle pull to tell them "no" to something. But by the next time they used it, they seemed to have acclimated completely. The cats are 9 and 10 pounds, and as far as I can tell the pull does not impede them at all now. I admit that I've never let the leash snap from slack to fully taut before. If I let out a lot of slack and then want to retract it, I either guide it back in with my hand to control the speed or slightly depress the button so it "stutters" back in. I don't think it would knock them off their feet or anything if I let slack snap back on its own, but I've never tried it.Noise: My cats were both freaked out the first time they heard the "hum" of the leash when it rapidly extends and the clicking sound it makes when you let the slack come in with a partially depressed button (the "stuttering" I mentioned above). So I just played with it around the house for a day and kept making those noises until the cats seemed comfortable. That took less than a day, and now they are pretty chill about it.Size/comfort: I saw a couple reviews with people saying their hand doesn't fit will in it. I'm 5'3 and petite and there is ample room for my hand, but I can see how someone with large hands would want a larger device.Summary: This leash has worked great for us. If I ever want a second retractable leash for my cats, this is the one I will buy.

Good product for the money
I bought 2 of these so both dogs have good quality leashes. The rope slides in and out so easily with no catching. It clicks and unclicks easily - good control of it. I like the length which is the normal length. Very comfortable in the hands. Good investment.

The material is not cheap and it has a very expensive look.
It is 100% what I was looking for.

Fida Retractable Dog Leash, 16 ft
I’ve been using the Fida retractable leash on my medium-sized dog for a few weeks now, and it’s been great for our daily walks. The 16-foot length gives my dog plenty of room to explore while I still have good control. I really like how lightweight it feels in my hand, and the handle is comfortable even on longer walks. The leash feels sturdy, and the reflective strip adds a nice safety touch for evening strolls. The retracting mechanism works smoothly without any annoying tangles or jams. Locking and unlocking the leash with the thumb button is super easy and convenient. If you have a small to medium dog, this leash is a solid choice — reliable, comfortable, and easy to use. Just keep in mind it’s not built for really large dogs
