Master the Coverstitch Machine: The complete coverstitch sewing guide

This is an excellent guide to using and getting the most out of my new cover stitch machine. It has very clear written explanations and lots of photographs for extra clarification. On the cover it says the book is a complete cover stitch sewing guide and indeed it is. It includes what to consider when buying a machine, tools and setting up, what the seams should look like and how to adjust settings to get perfect results and even has projects to show how to get the maximum benefit from your machine. It is a book I will return to again and again.

I'm so impressed with this book. I've read most of it over the weekend and then skimmed over project ideas which I'll come back to later. This is actually a self published book and the author has done an amazing job. The design and quality is lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone thinking of buying a Coverstitch machine, or needing tips for one they own. I bought my machine about 8 years ago and struggled so much as all I had to guide me was the manual which is very basic. Only in the last year or two did I fall in love with it as I experimented with tension and took time to figure out which threads do what. However I still have so much to learn and this book is wonderful. It's full of so many tips and tricks regarding how to get perfect stitching. I like the fact that the author is upfront about the fact that these machines can be a challenge and she gives lots of great advice. Coverstitch machines are expensive so it's well worth a little extra to treat yourself to this book and get the best out of it.

I landed on Johanna's youtube channel and after hearing her demo, checked out the book and it was as simple as that. I have been looking for coverstitch info for aaaaages and forums and channels have left me spending far too many hours on looking up info that always leaves me hanging and questions unanswered. Simply displayed , easy to read , simple clear pictures, tips, projects. There is a lot of space so the brain can actually take things in. Really is just the thing! Thank you and very happy with purchase.

I have had a coverstitch machine for about 4 or 5 years. I decided to give this book a go and I am glad I did. It is all simply explained with photographs and it covers mostly everything you would want to do with a coverstitch machine. It reminded me of some functions that I had forgotten about. I really do not understand why previous reviewers would think it at all disappointing. Yes, I have a manual with my (Babylock) coverstitch machine but this book is so much better. Buy it, you will be glad you did.

This book covers the very basic to the more complex. Ideal for a total beginner or someone still researching about the machine and what to buy. As far as I am aware this is the only dedicated book on this topic. However I have had a machine for 15 months so the early chapters are nor relevant. I would have liked more about typical settings for different fabrics. The diagrams on the appearance of different problem seams was very useful. On the whole I would recommend this book but a more experienced coverstitcher could be disappointed. The format is very clear and the book veryeasy to read

This book is so easy to read. I’m a beginner and have the same machine she uses in the book, so it’s perfect for me. It is such a pleasure to read her books, as they are so clear without being overwhelming. Eventually, I will probably buy all of her books as I love her teaching style.

Loved the pictures very easy to follow. I’ve had a cover stitch machine for a while and this book helped me to greatly improve my understanding of it and iron out some fundamental mistakes that I have been making. Highly recommend it for first time users and people like me. It’s important to know why something is not working correctly so it can be fixed. This book does that.

Excellent book to give you the basics of using a cover-stitch machine if you're new to using one or just thinking of buying one. Lots of trouble-shooting advice. Written in 2019, the information is current. Very good photos and practical advice make this a great resource. I enjoy Johanna's You Tube videos on this topic as well.

El mejor libro de esta temática, muy bien explicado y con fotos muy buenas. Si estuviera en español ya sería fantástico.

This book is well researched and well resourced. Coverstitch machines can be tricky, and at times temperamental little treasures. This book has helpful tips on how to get the best out of your machine. This book also has very clear and concise instructions on how to achieve similar results, as to what is available on ready to wear cloths. It is an excellent addition to my sewing library.

Con questo ho finito di avere tutta la serie di libri dell'autrice, comprato prima di avere in regalo (inaspettata!) una macchina punto copertura, casualmente ho poi scelto senza saperlo la stessa identica macchina dell'autrice, quindi mi ha aiutato tantissimo. La Lundstrom è veramente brava, e copre campi del cucito che non sono trattati da altri (come il jeans, o l'abbigliamento tecnico).

C'est le livre que j'aurais apprécié d'acheter quand j'ai acheté ma recouvreuse, je vais progresser à grand pas maintenant sur ma machine. Dans ce livre, il y a tout le nécessaire pour bien régler cette machine et en obtenir le maximum. Bravo et merci Johanna. Ton blog aussi est super pour compléter.
