Just what i needed to make my gauge work.
Fit the head of my 5.3 LS that in my 1969 Chevy Truck.. I didn't have any issues with it breaking as other reviews have said. . I was careful not to over tighten and it is working just fine. . . Also, I contacted Auto Meter and inquired about the senders not fitting. . I guess there are two sizes, this one works well with the 2259 "thats what im running". But it will not work with the senders that come with the auto meter gauges when you buy them. . No idea why they would do that, but if you buy this with the 2259 it does work. Hopefully this helps someone down the road

Used for LS Head
Used this for my LS3. I had to use a 5/16 to open the center hold so my Dakota Digital Water Temp Sensor could fit.

Heavy Duty and good quality
The thread is M12x1.5. It fits my 2JZ coolant neck to adapt a 1/8 NPT AEM temp sensor. Comes with a crush washer and the brass is thick, unlike the aluminum ones on other sites.

Doesn't fit standard sending unit
Don't try to use this with the standard sending unit. You'll end up drilling it out to fit, leaving the wall thickness around .04", which promptly breaks when you tighten it. Order sender #2259 for your LS swap. Not the adaptors fault. I know better. New one ordered with a #2259.

Price is higher at AutoZone
Works perfect and I didn't have to drive around @3.50 a gallon looking for it. This fitting replaces the oil pressure sending unit on BMW M50/52 so you can use a gauge.

Adapted OM617 diesel engine to Toyota oil sending unit successfully ...
Adapted OM617 diesel engine to Toyota oil sending unit successfully. Be aware that this unit seats on the collar (hence the crush washer), and you may need to use teflon tape if your application seats on the face of the fitting (Such as the OM617).

Works only with "short" sending unit
You should only use this with AutoMeter 2259. The hole in the adapter is not big enough to accept their normal water sending unit. I bought it, enlarged the hole with a drill bit, and promptly broke it off in the engine. Spent the rest of the day trying to get the threads out. If you drill the hole out, you are getting dangerously thin. That being said, I'm worried that the "shallow" 2259 sending unit will not give me accurate readings. It won't be directly in the path of the water jacket. How much difference does that make? I don't know.

Good product,
Product was just as described. No issues. It's brass, not steel. Just a heads-up.

Good quality. Used it on an ls build to run a second temp gauge. Needed to order the shorter temp sending unit that screwed into it. Worked well!
