Amazon Basics Knitted Chenille Throw Blanket - 50 x 60 Inches, Teal

If I could I would give it a zero stars rating. The label says it's ok to machine wash this blanket. I followed the instructions and the blanket came out of a washing machine all covered with snags! It's totally ruined and I cannot return it.UPDATE: Amazon was eager to replace or refund the blanket after I contacted the customer service. Zero stars for that. I like the color and the softness of the blanket, so I agreed to a replacement. I do not give it 5 stars, though, because of the inconvenience of handwashing it.

It took all of 5 minutes for my dogs nails to start pulling the threads on this blanket. Good blanket, just doesn't work if you have a dog.

Beautiful light weight blanket for my bed! It adds the extra warmth at night. I bought 2, one for my couch too!

The blanket seemed like decent quality at first look/feel. It felt comfortable, soft, and warm. The coloring is slightly off when compared to the images on the listing, but it still looks nice.Unfortunately it came right out of the bag with bad snags and stitching issues. That's something to keep an eye out for if you order one. Be sure to check it over right away.

This blanket is super soft, like I fell in love immediately. However, if you have pets or kids or don't plan on being extra gentle when using it then this blanket is not for you. It snags really easily. My dog jumped up on it and started rolling around on it (who could resist, its soooo soft) and immediately snags happened. I picked it up off the couch to moved it and caught the edge of the couch...snag The weave of the yarn just isn't very tight so it will pull really easily leaving you with large areas of loops of snagged yarn. I wanted it for the foot of my bed but I couldn't risk it so I use it to layer under my comforter.

Ordered July 20, 2021. Loved it when I got it; my friend came over and raved about it and I got one for her for her bday the following week A couple weeks later, it started unraveling, the closing stitches around the bottom hem started coming out and came out for about 18”. Then the rows started unraveling back and forth from the edge to about 18” in. I’d say there’s maybe 5-7 plus closing edge hem that’s gone, hard to say since the stitching is not as easy to count as those chunky knit blankets. Would have loved to return but I had used it and now the return window is closed. I did wash on gentle ONCE and that is what started the unraveling. Note- new washing machine, no agitator, gentle on items. Truth be told, I’ve washed a few times since because it is what it is and I guess I prefer a super high water bill so of course that worsened the fraying but it did indeed begin immediately. Care instructions state gentle cycle cold and no dry cleaning. Followed instructions. Maybe it was a singled out bad one, waiting to hear from my friend to see how hers has held up. I mean, it’s only been a month :/ $45 isn’t a crazy amt but I got my sister in law a different chenille blanket for $15 on July 21, 2021 (one day later because she had also come over and liked the blanket as did my nephew- both were obsessed ) but I opted for a cheaper one this time to see if there was much of a difference. The cheaper one was WAYYYYY lighter, the Amazon Basics one is heavy and did feel way better in quality initially… initially being the key word here. The heaviness may actually be a detriment in stretching out the knit too much, hanging sides, leading to uneven stretched stitches that would result in pulls, frays and eventually unraveling. Not sure if there is a way to submit this issue to Amazon Basics QC since it’s their product but overall it was $45ish poorly spent. So bottom line, it’s a big size , heavy, comfortable- if you use it as a casual throw or once in a while but keep in a drawer, you should be fine. If you’re planning on washing it every few weeks due to pets, kids, OCD, I’d pass and get three $15 throws.

I'd give this blanket 5 stars if I didn't have pets. My dog's nails sometimes get stuck in the knitting and it snags the blanket. Additionally, my cat likes to knead it like dough and his nails cause it to snag. Even with some snags it looks great as a throw on my couch. I have a backup one that I can use for when I have company that's not snagged. This blanket reminds me of something my grandma would knit for me but with softer material. I like that it's kind of heavy but because it's knitted it is breathable and not too hot. Everyone in the family fights over it when we are on the couch.

I love that this is a true white color. It’s very soft and cozy, I purchased the largest size for the end of our king bed, but the smaller size would make a perfect throw as well. I only gave it 4 stars because it is delicate, the weave does catch because it’s a looser weave - so be careful with pets and nails. I would purchase this again!

I bought this in 2 different colours one in grey and one in Bordeaux. I thought I'd be able to match it or at least blend it with all the Burgundy I have in my living room. It's a very dark Merlot type of colour. I have decided to use it in my bedroom and it is a lovely blanket, the only issue is it it has already begun to pull, if not for the pilling I would definitely buy more of them.

This blanket is brilliant, made of wool, it’s perfect for cold winters. The weight of the blanket is also comforting and feels like a warm hug. Wish them made it in more colors.

Our family loves this blanket. My kids and I fight over who gets to use it. Throws are never big enough so we order the largest size, and even my teenage son can wrap up in this one. It's also a good weight and warm, without being too heavy for the couch. And it's stretchy, which is different but we like it. The teal colour is bright, and I'm hoping it will stay that way once we wash it. If this blanket came in more than the few colours available, we'd probably purchase a second one.

More burgundy than pictured but still so cute! I wish it came in more of a rusty red colour like I was looking for... but I’ll keep it cause it’s still nice and cozy (and my dog fell in love with it and has spent the last two days curled up on it on the sofa. Haha)
