Mini World

I can't say enough about this woman. She and her producer (and guy who plays most of the instruments) kind of remind me of Billie Eilish and her producer brother Finneas. They just disappear into the studio and pop out with beautiful and very melodic pop. She is Paris born and of Indian/Egyptian/Cambodian/Algerian background, so she sings in French but sometimes with Indian/Bollywood flourishes that are quite a lovely combination. Skalpovich, the producer is a master of melody, and almost every song on this disc is a winner. They have a new CD dropping sometime soon, and I just can't wait!!

I'm eagerly awaiting a second album from Indila, hoping it is as good as this. In Mini World there is always a naivete and simplicity to the songs, with an unabashed romanticism and sentimentality, mostly centered on themes of loss and isolation. Are these pop songs? Art songs? Some new genre? Hard to classify somehow. Some gems really stand out, like 'Ego' and 'Love Story.' 'Ego' covers daring concepts of the self, The latter is built on a simple ostinato, but cleverly covers a trio of contrasting love stories with its enchanting overlaying melody. Of course at the core is Indila's unique voice, and just a hint of the influence of Arabic vocal ornamentation at times. Indila, que vous nous donniez en plus!

Magical melodies perfectly orchestrated with infectious rhythms form the backdrop for the mesmerizing voice of this French newcomer.This entire album is a gift from the musical heavens! Every song has undeniable merit and Andila (her real name) captures her listeners with an incredible, pulsating energy that seemingly elevates the soul and transports the senses!I use this album in my classroom to motivate my middle school French students and they absolutely LOVE her music!We impatiently await her second album!

Songs in French with a delivery inspired by Indian music. Though the single "Dernière danse" is nice, the lyrics and melody of "S.O.S.", "Run run", "Ego", and "Boîte en argent" are particularly stunning and unusual.

Please please make more CDs ... Indila's voice is so incredible ... Love listening to this CD everyday ... love the French with an Arabic flare. The best CD ever. Thank you so much ... now more please!

Incredible album, don't speak a lick of French, but the songs are awesome. Great arrangements and great voice. You'll enjoy even though you don't speak French. Would love another album from this great singer.

I know a little French, high school stuff. But I didn't buy this really to understand the words. I just find it very pleasant and relaxing. Like someone said great for summer listening. She's worth a listen.

CD is scratched abs skips

Wspaniała muzyka.

Durch Zufall auf diese außergewöhnliche französische Sängerin gestoßen, ein einziges Lied gehört und die CD gekauft. Und was soll ich sagen; ich bin sowas von begeistert, ich kann die CD nur jedem empfehlen.Natürlich ist alles Geschmackssache, aber diese elfenhafte Stimme, diese im Ohr bleibende Musik und dieser bassgewaltige Sound. Mich hat Indila auf jeden Fall mitgenommen und ich warte auf weitere Musik von ihr.Es gibt zwar ein paar Gesangspassagen die einen gewissen algerischen Einfluss nicht verleugnen können, aber sie sind gekonnt in dem Gesang eingeflochten, so das ein harmonischer Gesamteindruck entsteht. Was mir auch noch positiv aufgefallen ist, diese CD wurde hervorragend abgemischt. Da ist weder der Gesang oder irgendein Instrument im Vordergrund, es macht Spaß diese Art von Pop, R&B und Chanson immer und immer wieder zu hören. Und gar keine Frage, die Stimme und ihr bisher größter Hit Dernière danse hat was. Und wahrscheinlich deswegen wurde dieses Lied von dem DJ Bennett erneut als Dance-Mucke produziert.
