This book opened my eyes as to how remarkable options can be
This is the first book I have read on options. What a great text for someone to get started with! It is a wonderful book to introduce the complicated language of options and their many trading strategies to the uninitiated. Why? It is written as a conversation between a stock trader interested in options and a seasoned options trader. A few other characters of different trading backgrounds join in for levity and to round out the approach, thus offering other angles to the questions for the Mentor to answer. For me, this provided additional clarity. This Socratic style of teaching, I feel, is very accessible and rewarding to someone like me who was starting from the beginning. I am certain that there is plenty here for people more advanced than myself as well. It covers a lot of ground simply and carefully. Although the bulk of the book is Socratic in its teaching methodology, there is also additional text between conversations and a series of straight forward appendices as well, which look great to be referenced again and again in the future. This gem will get you started in your quest to get a grip on the world of options without your eyes glazing over. Congratulations to the authors and anyone else who helped put this together because it seems a lot of thought was put into this text. Every time I started to get "lost", there was additional clarification right around the corner. Bravo! For what it's worth, I am a very risk averse person by nature, and this book taught me that options can truly define your capital risk before you enter into an options contract(s) type of your choosing. It opened my eyes as to how remarkable options can be. I'm going to read it again right away and keep learning!

Solid Information
This book is ideal for someone who has a basic understanding of options but is not ready to fully trade them yet. This book is like a modern day Reminisces of a Stock Operator in the sense that it is not written in a traditional "how to format." Instead, it is based around a stock trader who seeks advice from others in chat rooms. The messages between the different traders and the "Optionz trader" make up the book. I found the dialog format in this book to be a refreshing change from the typical stock options books out there. I still feel I need to do more research on stock options, but this book definitely was worth purchasing for me as it helped me to identify which strategy to use at which time. I would have liked the authors to talk more about timeframes (how many days out should I be before expiration when I open the trade) and how to deal with changes in implied volatility after you open the trade. Overall, this is an excellent book. I hope the authors collaborate together on a future book.

excellent book! I thought covered calls were the holy ...
Simply put, excellent book! I thought covered calls were the holy grail of making money!? This book completely turned that around and showed me that there are better strategies to implore rather than capping my gains and did much to my dismay show me that there is no such thing as the “Holy Grail”, but rather there are strategies to utilize for any market scenario. The narrative that the book used was very easy for me to understand as I could totally relate to “Stock Trader” in that I wake up and jump on the computer to learn about what’s happening in the business world and think about it all the time, much like he does! My only regret is that I didn’t read the book earlier. Lastly, I will use this book as a reference in the future and will refer friends that want to get started trading options to read it. Thanks again Steve for the excellent price on the book well worth it!

EXCELLENT!!!
I have been learning and studying stock and option trading for five years now. I found Steve Burns on twitter about six months ago, and finally everything started coming together. His expertice and guidence is the frosting on the cake, This book is well written and easier to understand than any others i have attempted to read in the past. I gained so much more knowledge, and feel more confident going forward with my trading. I hardly ever give a review, but felt i needed to here. I would highly recommend Show Me Your Options

too cute
The book contains lots of good information. The problem is that it is like trying to extract gold from a river bed. The format is in the form of a conversation on an investment forum by two main characters sprinkled with a couple of intrusions by other characters. The problem is that the information is mixed in with a large amount of non essential stuff that leads to a confusing, disorganized and meandering format. I suspect that if the author wrote a book with the essentials of his concepts you would have a book size reduced maybe to one third of the current material. However, it might have been more informative.

First, follow Steve (@SJosephBurns) on Twitter if you don't already. Steve provides a wealth of trader education and is one of the best voices to listen to when trying to learn more about trading. On to the book...The authors wrote at the start of their work they wanted to write a book that did not feel like a boring college lecture but was not so simple that it insulted the reader's intelligence. They believed they had done it and I agree. The conversation style offers a different path to understanding. If you are one who does not enjoy studying text book type examples and theory but would like the guidance of listening to a more experienced trader's discussion then this book is for you.

Great Book
This was the perfect book for me at the perfect time. I understand options but have learned from the point of view of one strategy. This book does a good job of explaining options as a sort of Lego block, where you can utilize which ever strategy the market is telling you be profitable, and build your position from there. Easy read.
