The true strength of friendship is put to the test when a small town car mechanic comes out of the closet to his group of gullible, blue-collar best friends. This award-winning buddy comedy stars Parker Young (Surburgatory), Evan Todd (Sydney White), Chord Overstreet (Glee) and Jon Gabrus (Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight, Awful Nice). Review: A Great "Coming Out" Film - The best Gay themed film of its year, it is well written, well conceived, very funny and has great chemistry. A different kind of "buddy" film it shows another side of the situation than most films about "coming out". Extremely well cast it allows all the actors to shine. It is a very likable, hilarious, sweet and realistic film about a bunch of normal guys who actually care about their best friends. I recommend it to everybody that is accepting of human nature. It proves that a film does not have to have a huge budget, lackluster boring overpaid superstar actors and a bunch of overblown computer generated effects to be an excellent movie. I've only watched it six or seven times so far. If you need a 4th of July movie, this could be on your list. Review: I love this movie!!! - I have watched this movie like a dozen times or so! It's one of my favorites! After watching it on Netflix for a long time (it's no longer available on there), I thought it's time to add this to my DVD collection. It's such a great movie! It's funny, the characters are down-to-earth and relatable, and the story is light-hearted and realistic. The ONLY downfall of this movie is how the camera moves throughout the majority of scenes, as it doesn't seem to stay still and it's a bit eye boggling at times. Heads up if that may be an issue for you. But other than that, this is one of my favorite feel-good movies and I can't recommend it enough.

Please take a chance on this movie, it really makes you feel good!
This is my first gay comedy I added to my gay film purchases. I was reluctant with the line in the San Francisco Chronicle's review ...briskly edited, and appealing to all audiences, I almost missed this excellent film. I fell in love with Adam first, as he rehearsed this coming out speech to his 3 bros. Then Chris, as he promised things will never change, we all need a hot straight friend like him under these circumstances. Then the jokesters, Nick and Ortu(I swear he is jack black!). It is a very fun film. There is a serious side to the film, when Adam and Chris got drunk and something happened, causing Chris to pull away from Adam, but as true friends, it resolved itself. Everyone else in the movie adds to the fun. Please take a chance on this movie, it really makes you feel good. A great comedy, period.

Worth the watch
This was surprisingly good. I laughed a lot. The characters were both expected and unexpected. Definitely a feel good movie. Recommend.

and had some truly funny moments. This dealt with an average guy who ...
I was taken by surprise with this movie. I know that it is classified as a "gay" movie but in truth it is a "human" movie. It is a story of acceptance and finding our way in life. I could relate to this movie on so many different levels. It was touching, heartfelt, romantic, and had some truly funny moments. This dealt with an average guy who had an awakening in his life and he decided to share it with his friends. It then became a journey for everyone around him - some who accepted and others who did not. There needs to be more movies like this as the script was well-developed, the actors truly cared about their roles, the production quality was top-notch, and there was a genuine heart to the movie.

It's a little.... gay.
I cannot remember if I stumbled upon this movie on Netflix or if it was recommended on a list of gay-themed movies to watch. Regardless, I loved it. Being a gay man in my early thirties, I am always looking for a fun rom-com and if it involves coming of age and coming out of a character, I am IN (OUT?)! It plays well to a younger generation of viewers because not everyone who watches is going to be a homophobe and it is the same way in the movie. The main character has his stumbling blocks upon divulging his secret but it's all played in the same way most teen comedies and rom-coms are. Is it the best movie? Nah. Is it going to break molds and change minds? Maybe, but probably not. Is it enjoyable? Entirely. I will gladly keep this on my shelf next to the likes of Weekend and Brokeback Mountain.

Enjoyable ... I guess
... I mean, I did not dislike the movie. It just left me with an "Eh!" feeling. The lead character who played Adam was awesome! He personally gets five stars for his role ... except for how he eventually came out to his friends. That was kind of silly, but that's not a fault of the actor's. So I'll stick with what I said, then. Five stars for him! The rest of the cast was alright, except that the role of Adam's dad was grossly miscast. That guy seemed neither old enough nor mature enough to be Adam's dad. He didn't showcase the wisdom that a man of 45-50 would portray either. The Chris character, Adam's best friend, wasn't just alright. He was very good! I just thought his return to Adam, after their difficulty with one another at one point, was too perfect and succinct to be believable ... meaning, with the trouble he had with Adam's actions that caused him (Chris) to become estranged from Adam for a while, what he did to show Adam that he had gotten over their "dispute" made absolutely no sense to me! Neither did Adam's response to Chris as a result. You'll have to see the movie to know what I mean by that, [as I don't want to give it away if you have yet to view it], yet evidently I am in the minority on that notion, given the many five star ratings most others have given this cinema. A couple of other problems I had with this story: It was not clear to me as to why Chris vandalized Matt's car. [Matt was the man whom Adam was interested in after all the duds he'd dated on his search to finding Mr. Right.] And nothing was mentioned about the vandalism until the very end. I just didn't like how that particular story line closed. The most peculiar bit about this film, is that Matt never actually showed interest in Adam at all. It was all in Adam's head (if you view this as standing on the outside, looking in). He was attracted to Matt, but Matt did not express or exhibit romantic feelings toward Adam. Adam gushed over Matt whenever he was around, when the only reason Matt was ever in Adam's presence was to have repairs performed on his vehicle. The movie made it seem as though Adam found a partner or soul mate in Matt, but Matt's reciprocation was never truly displayed. Anyway ... decent film. As it is, I could take it or leave it.
