Ideal for Home use
Our other Rexel Shredder broke recently, so we were on the look out for a replacement. We didnt want to spend a fortune and as the Rexel V60 was on special offer, we thought we would take the plunge on this stylish looking unit.It is a bit different from our old one, but to be fair that was a cheap sub £30 one. the bin is light but the shredder mechanism is reasonabley heavy, same with our last one, but the V60 has good postions on each side of the shredder near the top, to be able to lift it quite easily as a whole. The shredding mechanism is slow but very professional in the way it cuts, compared to the rugged & noisy one we had before. The cut is quite thick, but fine for home use.I can put several sheets of regular A4 paper in at a time, and it handles it the same way as it does with one sheet at a time. so it makes large quantities of paper more pleasnt & swift to destroy, if you organise the paper before hand. Obviously the thicker the sheets of paper, the fewer you must put in, and i found when shredding large qauntities, that after a fair few sheets the shredder will stop working, dont worry, just leave it 5-10 minutes to cool down & it will start working again. The front buttton is a bit stiff, so it can jump to the next option, but over time hopefully it should be more flexible & precise. The orange cover that goes inside to help compacting the paper, i found to be a little annoying when emptying the bin, as it gets in the way a bit.In Conclusion, so far we are very pleased with the Rexel V60, the design is better, the mechanism is better & it's simple to put togher out the box. It arrived within 3 days with FREE Super Saver Delivery. Note: You must NOT use oil on the shredder. Reccomended.

It Works! And the after sales service was brilliant
AMENDED: Unfortunately, the motor stopped working after a year. The item has a 2 year guarantee. I called the guarantee line, gave them my order information and within 3 days a brand new one arrived. Fantastic. Thanks to Rexel. Great service. After several cheap rubbish, annoying toys in the past - at last a shredder that works, quickly, without any nonesense and for a decent amount of time! Good product. Straight out the box I was ramming in 8-12 pages at a time and it devoured them, I soon got through a 5-6" wad of paper, all I had to do was empty its not insubstantial bin. It is not a two way cut / cross thread, but if someone wants to stick that lot back together good luck to them! Dont bother with a cheaper shredder, I have just thrown two out which flunked out after 2-3 minutes and took ages to cool down. This has a fan, and you can hear it reassuringly doing its job..

Rexal Promax RES1123 12 Sheet Strip Shredder
I have purchased 2 of these shredders and I am impressed with their shredding abilities. They are relatively quiet and did the job efficiently. However, both shredders developed the same fault, the white plastic components on the underside of the entry throat have shattered and rendered the shredders virtually useless. In my opinion Rexel should replace these components with a material which is shatterproof. Next stop the local recycling facility.

Shreds well
It is a little temperamental as sometimes sheets do not go through, it acts as if it is jammed when it isn't, even if its only one sheet. At other times several sheets will go through without any problem. Overall it is not ideal for heavy use but it does shred well when it works. My previous shredder was a different, well known make and it was much better, especially with heavy workSo overall it does the job but was disappointing and OK for home use but not office.

Rexel shredder
This is the second shredder I have bought, and the by far the best. Like most shredders, it works for a short period and then stops to cool down. Mine works for about 3/4 minutes before stopping (for about 10 - 15 mins). The beauty is that it will quite happily shred 2-3 A4 pages at a time. It compresses the output (but only on full A4 sheets), and stops the shreds from spilling out onto the floor. Use it on the sensor setting rather than continuous cutting which will then only cut when there is something actually cutting.

But I'm pleased to say that it's been absolutely perfect
I was getting a lot of pressure to provide a shredder at work and with so many options I wasn't sure how this would perform. But I'm pleased to say that it's been absolutely perfect. One word of warning though - do not try and shred stickers as they get stuck in the blades. But to be honest I think that'd happen to any shredder.

Liable to break
As reported previously the shredding aspect is fine and overall it's a good machine. However, you can see there's a hard plastic 'window' on the bucket. On the reverse of this there is a piece that sticks up and when the top is put on, it pushes up a mechanism that allows the shredder to work. If the plastic bit breaks off, the shredder stops working. I have glued it back in place but that won't last and its a very flimsy arrangement.
