Good for 4 Samsung security cams, runs too hot for 8
I bought the 8-splitter for 8 Samsung Wisenet 4MP outdoor cameras with night vision. Although it seems to have worked for 8 cameras, it ran way too hot for me to trust it while I might be away. I had a 4-splitter on hand and since it fit on this cord, I tried this with 4 cameras instead. This cord did not overheat for 4 cords, so I feel more comfortable using it for just 4 cameras. I am now deciding if I need to buy multiple cords and 4-splitters for additional cameras or if I will just look for a more suitable cord that can truly handle 8.

Will work but eventually fail
I purchased this 8way plug back in sep2020 to supplement my security camera setup. I wanted to reduce the number of plugs and use a larger splitter out of the box. Essentially this plug did just that, I am using the NightOwl 1080/720 mix of cameras over Balun(Ethernet), and mixed with siamese coax-59/w power. They will fire up your camaras but over time the brick part of this plug will begin to overheat. 6 months to the day of writing this review I can say it was performing at a working level but began to not only overheat but buzz. Out of worry that the plug will eventually fail I decided to shut down my entire system to diagnose the problem since the buzz was faint at the time I heard it til today, I was able to source a new plug locally and bypassed this plug all together. VOILA! not only did my DVR load the cameras faster but I had no buzz, so far plugs are not heating up but that will be determined over time, and a cleaner resolution. So Yes, this plug does work. for how long? thats the gamble. Would I recommend it? 3 stars (only worked for 3 years,almost).Proscable is quite long for a security set up8 way plug fits BNC camera barrel plugspig tails on 8 way are also longconsThis thing will overheat on you if you dont check up on it..if you have a small space to sort your security wiring the long cable will be a conunstable voltage if you do have all 8 plugs used by cameras. not sure why but this plug hates when the cameras switch on IR sensors. I will get drops in resolution when other cameras sunset to IR sensors to on.
