I purchased this product after it was recommended in a blog article by a dog trainer
I purchased this product after it was recommended in a blog article by a dog trainer. Amazon.com reviews seemed pretty favorable as well, so I decided to give it a try.We have two barkers in the house we want to have not bark so much. The small Chihuahua mix is Molly. She's our primary problem. Molly is like Samara, only she sleeps just fine. But she does not and will not stop barking once she gets started. Various methods have been tried and all to no avail. She is a tiny, high energy, intensely motivated ball of noise. The Corgi-mix is Humphrey. He likes to bark. He barks at the mail man. People walking past the house. People making noise out of sight in other parts of the house. Bugs. Ghosts. Humphrey, can be stopped from barking, but it takes a minute and some intense effort. So, in order to preserve our sanity, I decided to try the Company of Animals Pet Corrector. The logic behind how it works was sound. It's basically a more intense version of Cesar Milan's "tsch" noise.Humphrey, First Attempt:As soon as he started barking, I blasted the can. A loud, snake-like hiss issued forth. Humphrey's pack brother, Oliver, leaped about 3 feet and then tried to figure out where the noise came from. Lucy crawled into her dog bed and laid down staring mournfully at me.But the affect on Humphrey was the most profound. It utterly sapped his very will to live. Humphrey's tail is ALWAYS up. He is the bounciest, happiest, liveliest little dude you have ever met. But one blast from that can, and he walked across the living room with his tail dragging listlessly on the floor, crawled onto the couch and into my husband's lap, and laid there like he had decided to never move again. He recovered some 5 minutes later when the blast hadn't repeated.Humphrey, Second Attempt:He was utterly defeated. The second round of barking, and a second blast from the can, sent him to the couch again, this time to hide behind me and lay very quiet and still, as if to become invisible from "The Noise That Clearly Hates Corgis". I honestly don't think he barked again the rest of the night.Pet Corrector Vs Humphrey: Pet Corrector Wins.Molly, First Attempt:We brought the problem child out for a test of this seemingly miraculous behavior corrector. Perhaps even the demon dog can be changed!I sent the kids outside, leaving Molly behind, a scenario guaranteed to make her start barking. She of course promptly did, and I blasted the Corrector. This did not go so well.Molly not only barked harder, she became ridiculously aggressive. Hackles up, she proceeded to attack another pack mate, who had to be put in another room for his safety, and so as not to mess up our tests.Meanwhile, Molly is still barking.Molly, Second Attempt:Molly is now frantically running around the living room, hackles up, barking furiously.I trigger a second blast.Oliver, who was startled silly by the Corrector the first two times I blasted it, has now decided to BARK AT IT. Wait, what? Oliver, no!Molly, is not in any way shape or form intimidated by this thing. In fact, she has now declared all out war on the entire house. THAT NOISE BE D****D!! She is charging everyone and everything in sight. Oliver gets in her way, and suddenly this is Sparta.Fortunately, everyone is separated without injury, Molly is put in check, and peace falls upon our house once more.Pet Corrector Vs Molly: Molly Wins, kicks dirt on the can, pees on the dirt, and scrapes her feet to show everyone watching who is BOSS.In summation:Pet Corrector works brilliantly on normal dogs with minor behavioral issues. I highly recommend it for this scenario.Pet Corrector might actually make tiny high-energy spawns of Cerberus worse. I don't recommend it for the Mollys of the world. For those concerned, Humphrey did recover his will to live, and picked his tail up off the ground. :)

Absolute life saver... used for training with my separation anxiety ridden pup!!
I can't even begin to say thank you for this product. I am a dog owner of a 4 1/2 yo Rescue pitbull mix that has severe separation anxiety- I mean chew and dig through the wall, door frame, door, plastic, crates, you name it. I have don EVERYthing, I have read every article, tried every means of training, medication, distractions, treats, and then there was Pet Corrector. I first purchased it to help curb his obsessive barking, crying in the car when we would pull into a parking lot or stop at a light. It started to work immediately, I had attempted the water spray trick, but that did nothing. After only a few uses, the behavior stopped. A few years later I moved into a new apartment with him and within 2 weeks he was back to digging at the door, etc when I would leave. I started to use the spray during my training, coming in and out of the house. When I would return to the house, if he was near the door, I would give a little spray. He was not a fan. Pretty soon, he just would see me go to the door and quickly walk away. Fingers crossed this sticks and helps him break the mental pattern that he needs to dig to find me. I think he is learning to sooth himself and realize home is safe and I will return to him. I can't even begin to say how thankful I am, this small paragraph can't even convey the challenges it has been to see my little guy suffer with this anxiety and almost injure himself. Thank you so much, and I hope that this review can help someone else in the future.

Great for your neighbor's noisy dog or for breaking your own dog of bad habits
If you have one of those noisy barking dogs next door that sit by your fence and bark every twenty seconds, this is the product for you. It's just a spray can of air that I believe is pressurized higher than things like hairspray or spray paint and it makes a louder noise. Dogs don't seem to like it. When the dog barks, I sneak out and wait until he barks again and give the can a quick spray. He immediately stops and won't come back to my side of the fence for days. You can also use this for other behaviors that need correcting. But if you have that neighbor who always has some lame excuse for the dog barking or constantly yelping, this stuff will take care fo it. You don't have to be right next to the dog, just in the proximity and you do not spray the dog. Easy to use. Comes with instructions for behavior correction too.

too expensive - go to an office supply store and buy compressed air - it is the same thing.

I got majorly screwed on this and not happy. How can they claim this is the same ...
I ordered the same exact item as last year (saying on it while I was ordering that I ordered this lady on this date) when I got it, it was a completely different size! A lot smaller and almost double the cost. I got majorly screwed on this and not happy. How can they claim this is the same item when look at the size difference

Buyer beware
This product is rediculously overpircied and the size fits in my hand. Luckily to get about 20 puffs out of the thing.. buyer beware!

MIRACLE PRODUCT
I cannot rave about this product enough. We have chewing, barky, jump-y, aggressive in play style puppies who need a lot of work with training. They tend to bite when they get really excited and it is a quite annoying and sometimes painful habit to expect when we come home from work. This is the only product that works with immediately calming down our dogs and stopping bad behavior. We live in a flat in Chicago with thin walls and close by neighbors. I love that we can control our dogs and nip bad behaviors in the but without raising our voices or having to scold our dogs. It's not at all harmful to the dog and it works WONDERS on our pups. It's truly been a lifesaver to alter unwanted behavior. I do consider this product to be a bit pricey and bought it with full skepticism but now I know I would have spent a lot more taking our pups to a trainer than using this at home. Be advised: a little bit does go a long way.
