Happy and healthy plants after three weeks away
I was so happy to open my door to happy and healthy plants after a three week trip away from home. These stakes work great, and I'm a bit embarrassed to say that they do a better job than I do at keeping my plants consistently watered. Many of my plants looked happier than ever. These are really the best and only solution (other than hiring a service) to take care of your houseplants for extended periods of time. My outside plants didn't fair as well even though a neighbor was tending to them. As long as you leave a water source large enough you can leave home with confidence for long periods of time. NOTE: after reading some of the unhappy reviews I wanted to point out that there seems to be quite a bit of misunderstanding and user error. This system is a simple suction system that waters your plants based on the placement of the plant in relation to placement of the water source. If your plant likes to be damp then your water source should be placed even with the plant pot, if your plant likes to be more dry you will place your water source below the level of your plant pot, and if your plant wants to be very moist then your water source should be above your plant pot. I do advise that you experiment to make sure your plants will be happy with the positional relationship of plant to water source before you leave them alone or some may be over or under watered. There are instructions but they aren't in English, but there are pictures that help you understand. There is a formula to compute how much water you should provide given the duration of the watering period and the watering needs of your plant. That may sound complicated so I'll admit that I didn't use the formula and I just winged it. I got lucky, because some plants had lots of water left over, and others were on the last half inch of water. Another consideration is evaporation. If you leave your water source uncovered then the water will naturally evaporate, and also provide an environment for insects. I used cling wrap that worked very well for covering my water source while allowing the hose to work properly. Your hose must be able to reach the bottom of your water source in order to use all the water. I used pitchers, bowls, sand buckets, gallon jugs, and empty planters to be my water sources. I used any container that could hold enough water for the plant's needs, and that could be positioned properly in relation to the planter, and that allowed the hose to hit bottom. I used books, foot stools, and plant stands to help create the proper positional relationships between water source and planter. Please use the pictures in the instructions for more guidance. Good luck!

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU GET BLUMAT’S WATERING SYSTEM IF YOU LOVE YOUR PLANTS
I have been the black fingers pope of my plants. My initial problems were either over watering causing root rot or forgetting to water them. So, I bought one of those self-watering tubes to put into the plant ground thinking that would eliminate both problems. NOT! This only gave me two new problems. 1. I had no idea how much water was still in a glass-colored watering container stake. These stakes held less than a quarter cup of water which meant it required them to frequently be filled again. 2. It still did not resolve the issue of remembering when I needed to water my plants. Whereas as the BLUMAT watering stakes resolved all my issues. I no longer have any overing watering problems that cause root rot nor dry soil by forgetting to water them. The resolution came with BLUMAT’s simple watering system. Now I know all my plants get the right amount of water from my thirsty indoor peppermint to my not so thirsty aloe that only needs water every now and then. This means no more root rot. No more forgetting to water my plants. All I need to do is place a small glass beside my plants. All that is needed to do is to take the tube that runs from the stake and put it in the glass of water that you keep beside your plants. Your plants suck up the amount of water it needs from the glass using the tube from the spike. VIOLA, you have retired from your plants’ black finger pope’s position. Then relax and watch your plant flourish. There are four other things I do: 1. PUT A COFFEE TABLE COASTER under each glass to prevent water damage to wherever I place the glass of water. 2. PUT A LARGER GLASS TO ENSURE EACH PLANT gets watered properly where I have one area where I have three plants. 3. ADDED A WEEKLY REMINDER ON MY PHONE TO CHECK THE GLASSES OF WATER. It is easy to see how much water is needed since the BLUMAT’s watering system allows me to see how much water is in every glass at a glance that is aside the plants. 4. I KNOW HOW MUCH LIQUID FERTILIZER I NEED TO PUT INTO EACH GLASS according to MIRACLE GROWS’ plant growth liquid directions. Some prefer using their power. I prefer using the liquid in a pump as it makes it easier for me to determine how much to feed every plant as all it takes is to add the number of pumps, I need to push according to MIRACLE GROWS’. Best of luck using your BLUMAT watering system DOC

The plants will thrive while you vacation!
Holy wow. I bought these for a two week trip and returned to the happiest plants I've ever had. They continued on like that for another three weeks before the large container finally ran low on water. Highly worth getting. Great quality.

Def worth
So easy and straightforward! Very happy with the products. I purchased a large set for my fiddle leaf fig and tomato plants and a 15 small pack for the rest of my plants. I did do a test run for 3 days before my 10 day trip to adjust the watering levels. The height of the water source relative to the pot matters! My basil plant enjoys this much more than my own watering too. All plants <20 are thriving and only 1 was overwatered (it seeped out of the bottom of the pot) but is just fine.

Love it! Just make sure you set it up properly. I feel some of the negative reviews are due to improper setup. It did a great job keeping the soil damp without water logging my plant. Overall my mini rosebush looks super happy after returning from a month away! So much so that I decided to leave it in after I returned. It is also pretty easy to set up. Some tips are play with the reservoir placement and buy in advance so you have time to do so if it’s for a going away trip. I originally had the water reservoir placed higher than my plant and the blumat too close to the edge of the pot, which completely flooded it. I reset it and found the sweet spot was about level with my plant with the blumat moved closer to the center of the pot. Make sure you watch a tutorial on how to set it up and adjust according to your plants needs.:)

Blumat Classic Automatic Plant Watering Stakes are AMAZING!!! I received them, followed the directions, my plants have never been happier. Here are my tips as per directions and reviews…. 1) Make sure you try them for at least 2 weeks before your planned vacation to make sure they are set up correctly. 2) make sure to lightly sand entire (pottery) surface of stakes 3) soak stakes and tops (attached to tubes) in a container for 1 hour 4) leaving both pieces in the container with water, make sure the stakes are filled with water (while you are holding it under the water) and place cap on and off several times until all the air has been released and there are no more air bubbles coming out of the end of tube. Watch carefully for this while all parts are submerged. 5) after watering your plants the “traditional” way, place stake into soil gently (without disrupting plant roots). Depending on the size of your plant, you might need additional stakes. 6) place the end of tube into container with water (depending on how long you are gone, the container should be large enough to hold a sufficient amount of water). ***after set up, you should notice water decreasing from the container. Keep in mind, if your soil was wet initially, your plant will require less water from the stakes. Once the soil is no longer wet from the “traditional” watering, you will notice your plant “drinking daily” from the stakes. If you see that one is not working, remove from soil, rinse, sand the stake again, soak, place cover on and off again several times (while your holding both pieces under water) until no bubbles come out of the tube anymore. Then place the stake in your soil and try again. The first time I used these for my plants (out of town for 5 weeks) I put all my plants into my bathroom, just in case the system did not Work properly. I wanted to make it easier for my neighbour to water everything in case it was no successful. (I had someone stop by weekly to make sure everything was ok). I also bought large buckets from Home Depot (approx. $3 each) so the plants were sure to have enough water. It worked perfectly!!!! My buckets were large enough, that my neighbour never had to add extra water. The plants “took what they needed”. When I returned home, my plants looked green and so happy. Actually better than “traditional” watering. I took them out of the bathroom and placed them all back where they belonged throughout my house. I was so happy with the results, I’ve decided to permanently “water” my plants with the stakes. Much easier and the plants love it! Last 4 pictures are plants in their permanent locations with stakes set up. I check water levels and add as necessary. Super easy!! It’s a little time consuming to set up initially, but well worth it!!! Plants will ❤️ You and you will save time in the long run!!! It’s been a month since I’ve returned and my plants are thriving and sooo happy!!! HIGHLY recommend! Read other reviews for tips!!! I have a lot of plants so I ordered 2 sets.

I've struggled with getting them right for house plants - 3 of my plants doing great, 2 have had way too much water coming through (my fault as no time to try and rectify). I have been working a lot lately and haven't had a chance to get outside to water the plants - consistent 35 to 40 Celsius every day. I've got half of my flower bed (pictured) set up with blumats and half without and you can clearly see the side flourishing! I'm very impressed.
