Buy this now!
My only regret with purchasing this is that I didn't buy it sooner! My 2 year old has been sucking her middle and ring finger since she was a few months old. I have tried everything- glove, cast, nail polish, even Wasabi! Nothing helped or she could take it off. I had this on her for 25 days and then slowly weaned her off. And voila! She has not attempted to suck her finger!!!! It comes with an instruction book which i thought was a bit much at first but turned out to be very helpful. Even has a sticker page to track progress. I ran out of bands due to doubling up at first when I didn't need it but just bought more. She faught me at first but then it became the norm. I only took it off for showers since she was too distracted to suck her fingers. Other than that, she had it on every moment- playground, jumping park, school, dinner, everything. I love this! Only problem we had is that she chewed it a little and it broke on the side, but still wearable.

Worked great for my 13 month old
Wonderful product that broke my 13 month old’s habit in 2 weeks. My son constantly sucked on his fingers - for comfort, boredom, and always for sleep. Now that he’s getting more teeth I wanted to help him stop before he develops complications. I used the two finger guard on index and middle finger. Kept it on tight and took breaks during dinner and bath before bedtime. His night sleep was interrupted a few times the first night but then he figured out how to sleep. Material is soft and flexible. He’s a new walker and falls a ton but had no issues catching himself with his hands which was my biggest worry. I would say it even helped his falls as it added grip. His hand was still functional even with the guard and he was still able to play with toys. So happy we finally broke his habit! Now I’m not worried about speech issues or expensive orthodontic work. Our pediatric dentist really recommended to stop earlier than later for the previous reasons. I definitely imagine it being easier to stop at a younger than older age as kids will remember things more.

WORTH THE PRICE!
My son has been sucking his fingers from about 6 months to now 3 years old . He wore this finger guard for two weeks and 3 days and has completely broke the habit. It has been over a month that he has gone without the finger guard and he has not fallen bake into the habit! We tried everything from bitter nail covers to homeopathic methods to bandaids and nothing worked until this!! We are so happy, so thankful, so grateful!! The only minor flaw is that he did bite on it a bit which is actually why we took it off in the first place- he eventually bit a piece of so we stopped use to see if we needed to purchase a replacement one. But we did not. A few weeks with this finger guard (and rewards like the included sticker map) was all he needed!

Stays on, well tolerated, and protects fingers
I bought this for my 4 year old child who is blind and autistic. She bangs her fingers into her teeth and was getting terrible wounds. We were trying to bandage them and were having to hold her down with two people and wrap tape all over her hand. My husband even got called to the school to retape because a parent has to hold. And every time the bandage was off even for a few minute she would re-injure it. This product has really been a game changer. We have only had it come off accidentally once when she was sleeping, which is why we now have double bracelets. She can bathe, eat, sleep, and seems totally comfortable in it. It actually seemed to calm her as soon as it was applied. The wound is almost healed underneath. You can see under it and the skin can breathe but it gives decent coverage so I haven’t had to do any special wound care. I know it’s not for wounds but I’m sure she’s not the only child that has gotten to this point if parents are buying something like this. She has now switched to the other hand so we have to buy another one, and they’re not cheap. But I am very happy with the product.

Watch for chewing!!!
Our 9 year old daughter sucks her pointer finger. She always has so much so I have a sonogram from being pregnant with it in her mouth and it actually bends slightly different to accommodate. You can imagine it's been a journey. We have tried everything we and others have suggested since she turned 1. She now has horrible dental issues so we are trying this. She understands more than when she was little and usually sucks when watching a movie or asleep now subconsciously. Not many things for a 9 year old to try but she's a petite girl so we have slightly more options in the way of fitted options. The instructions say to check for oral fixation marks. Well the first 10 days went VERY well. No issues which we didn't expect and we were hopeful. Here we are now day 20 and at night she has began to chew on it. She has chewed so much chunks are missing and hanging. Don't want a choking hazard so last night I wrapped them with medical tape. This morning it still looks good. Dirty from stuff sticking to tape but good. It says keep it on for at least 7 days after oral fixation stops so we are hoping we still don't have to go past 30 but it really recomends if you have bumps along the way to go to 40+ days. It stays on constant except I help her in shower wash hair or take off the length of a shower but worry in shower she will go back to it or chew nails basically starting us over. Since she is in school, I have waited until summer break! She has no problem using her hand with it on for most things. She can still climb up to her loft bed at night. It sometimes becomes sweaty and I just dry it out with blow-dryer on cold shot or cool!I would give full 5 stars but feel if oral fixation is a known issue and it costs as much as it does, it should be reinforced with something stronger and less flexible on tips that don't come off. This could be a choking hazard!!!
