Huge improvement to my shop's air system!!
I hesitated for a long time about buying this system and undertaking the work to upgrade my shop's air system, but during a recent interior shop remodeling I decided to go for it. Really glad I did! I have about 1200 SF of shop area, and with some careful layout and a few extra fittings, the kit did the entire shop.I didn't buy their overpriced pipe attachment clamps. My local big box home improvement store had packs of them at a fraction of the cost that fit the pipe perfectly (I took a little piece with me to check). I did a layout on the ceiling with string of where I wanted the pipe to go, then loosely pre-attached the clamps along the string line. As I installed the pipe I tightened the clamps in place to hold it. Since I was working alone, it was a great time and frustration saver!Pros: The pipe is easy to cut and the snap fittings are easy to work with. I had one leak at a hose connection, but that was because I hadn't seated it all the way. Easy fix. The kit contains most of what you need, depending on your layout. I found that by curving the hose along the ceiling I could eliminate a lot of elbow fittings. Also, I changed the layout a couple of times, and was able to get by with the 100' of hose in the kit. Again, preplanning is the key.Cons: They don't really explain how to make the connection at the compressor, so you're kind of on your own there. I ended up buying an additional block and a leader hose - which you need for flexibility at the compressor anyway, due to vibration - and it worked out fine. I also added a quick disconnect here to be able to detach the compressor from the system to move it.Another con are the plug fittings on the back of the blocks. They're hard to completely seal, and they protrude out from the back of the block, so you can't get the block flush against the wall. I solved this problem by cutting a plywood block and attaching it to the wall where I wanted the air block, drilling a hole in the plywood for the air plug to recess into, then attaching the air block to the plywood block.Plan on Teflon tape and a paste thread sealer for ALL your fittings. I did that and then after charging the system went over everything with a spray bottle of soapy water and still had a few leaks that needed re-tightening.They should include hose attachment clamps with the kit.Bottom line, the system isn't completely perfect, so I gave it 4 stars. Should probably be 4-1/2! Overall a great product for the money, and as long as you're patient and do some planning, I can highly recommend it.

perfect for my needs
I have a very small shop and always drag a 50 foot 3/8 air hose out the door to work on things. I wanted to add an exterior air hose reel and this helped me do so. I have since used this for a few months now and am now thinking of buying a few for future projects. no leaks what so ever with Teflon tape. even now i can leave my air system pumped up overnight and it holds air. I installed a gauge in the top and ran the intake thru the back thru a wall. only thing i wish is for a bigger gauge. 2" is kinda hard to see when your like 15 foot away from it. this product is 10000% worth the money thank you

Why not machine it out of a thicker block of aluminum?!?
Another annoying product trying to save two bucks. However if you are setting up a network of compressed air in your shop, this is the way to go. Just a heads-up, you will need to mount these to a stand-off block of plywood so that the fittings that screw into the manifold clear the wall that you are mounting to.
