Sleek design, and display information is nice.
I had previously been using a 400W inverter on our boat via our 12V cigarette plug, but needed a more powerful inverter for some other applications. This one so far has proven itself a great purchase. The unit itself has a very sleek look to it, and the digital displays of input/output, etc. are very nice to monitor the performance while it is connected. Because my previous inverter would often blow the fuse via the cigarette plug, I will likely mount this unit in the battery compartment for easy attachment to the battery directly with the included battery clips which are included (it also comes with the cigarette plug also). In the future, I will certainly add to this review should I experience any issues, but so far, a very solid purchase.

Good
Works like it should. The fan is quite loud.

Don't even think about / way over-rated power / poor design
I tested it with a blender from our kitchen (a device with less than 400W power consumption).I started with slow speeds and gradually increased the speed of my blender. Some chemical smell started to come out (at that point I wasn't sure where it was coming from; inverter or blender?).At top speed inverter suddenly died (both output and the display). I unplugged the blender and tried to restart the inverter with no load; it's still completely dead. That means only one thing; blown fuse (inside). So that horrible design inverter (supposed to handle continuous 1000 Watts) can't even handle 400 W.It went back immediately.Yet it got worse; I plugged my 7 years old blender to wall outlet - it's completely dead as well. I opened it up; yes, that burnt smell was unfortunately coming from my blender. It has a switch-mode power supply design inside. Although it's only driving a motor (shouldn't be such sensitive load as an audio-video electronic device). But still, wave-shape output of this horrible inverter caused blender power supply to fry. Output of that inverter had to be square-wave (not even a simulated sinus-wave).Killing my blender; this inverter caused an additional loss for me.Stay completely clear from this (there are also few very similar looking ones - they ought to be same design - don't go with them as well).I returned it and bought a much better model with pure sine wave output and real 1300 W output.

Works as intended
Using this in my shed for some free power with a few old batteries and a solar panel.Runs a bit loud but otherwise looks sleek

Used for Solar battery bank
I bought this to play around with designing a second battery bank for a solar set up. A permanent one. Actually liked the display on it, though I won't be buying it again. Nothing went wrong, just found better options for my next setup. I'll keep it around as a way to keep making new banks when I need/want to.It seems to be about 80-85 percent efficient. Based on what my meters tell me. I don't really care about that when I test out battery banks for functionality and longevity. As I expect at least a 30 percent loss in DC to AC conversion. Though for an inverter used in a permanent setup, pretty good.Still, does the job and will work great in your vehicle. I will suggest replacing the wires that come with it. Never have trusted the wires they provide, as you never know if the company made them or acquired them from another place. Had a set burn out on me below the max wattage capacity of the inverter a couple years ago. Never trusted them since.

it works .... works well. get one
it do what thay say it will ... be sure to get the rite one for what ya are doing. better to go bigger than to find out ya don't have enuff power at the track. tested it by running my puter and tv and the modum for the puter all at the same time. .. lasted 4 hrs before the buzzer went off when it hit 10 volts in the battery. probly could have got 10 or 12 hrs out of the battery but you can't turn off the buzzer. its loud btw .... lol overall i like it and will mount it under the hood of my truck.

Works well. Good value. Fan on 100%(updateOct2019)0%) Low power inductive caveat.
Minus one star for fan failure. Made some awful sounds in its death throes. Alls well without it & quieter too. Still runs 600-800W loads 10-15min ok. Still recommend for a budget buy w/know-how install &use.Does have easily 1000W with proper wiring. I'm taking off a star for fan, modest noise.Update 9Jul2019—works poorly with lo wattage inductive loads like household fans or old heavy walwart transformers. I'm not even trying a mini fridge. I may try microwave (and again with an isolation transformer). Many audio amps may have problems with this inverter too. To be expected (see other reviews here) so no loss of stars. Should be fine with newer computer era AC to DC adapters. Runs rather efficiently with those.End update.Cons: Load meter doesn't work well, input energy basically voltmeter nightlight. Display lamps don't ever turn off. The lighter plug outlet is borderline joke 18ga. 16-18 inches. (That means maybe 200W max with lighter plug. Honestly better if not included). Alligator cables sufficient. With the exception of the fan noise, most of these issues trivial.Pluses: is an actual aluminum metal base. My black unit is still plastic all around. The base is most important (theft resistance not the least) to be metal. Doesn't run hot.USB outlets both run my hi juice phones with no "check charger or cable" message.I haven't run thru a (solar) power meter gauge yet. No load current is ~800mA, somewhat higher than expected. Display always on may be part of issue....Instructions clearly state SQUARE WAVE output & even suggest using a different RMS meter.... It reads fine on my digital & my analog (yeah I'm old) shows very minor wiggling with no load. Easily passing for most loads. I'm also pending a test to check with small fridge. I expect it to work. Power drill & 3/4 HP belt sander pass too.In addition to pony fridge & no load current tests, the last is longevity. I've had multiple problems with cheap units. I will update this review sometime later. As it appears, great value, passes or exceeds expectations. Is kinda noisy for some applications.Would buy again. Recommend with professional/knowledgeable installation.
