In winter I ride a lot of gravel ...
I picked these up as a winter tire for all the rough miles I would put on them. After ~3000 miles and some serious tough asks, they held up great. In winter I ride a lot of gravel so these tires of seen several hundred miles of gravel, rough backroads, snow/ice, and everything in between. They managed this with not a single flat. Also its to be said they roll fairly quickly and handle great. The rear was worn down to a flatter profile but the front seems almost new. They survived several large cuts that went quite deep and nary a wimper come from them.Looking for something reliable and comfortable for roads that could be almost anything? You can't really go wrong here. The only con I have for these tires is in the gumwall. I absolutely adore the asethetic, but they get dirty quick in winter. I'm borderline obssesive about keeping my bike clean. Even in the dingiest of winter I always wipe everything down. These tires did stain and it just wont come out. Go for black if you are doing any off road riding.

These ride pretty nicely - not as cushy or as supple as Compass tires, but not bad - and certainly better than some of the lower quality skin wall tires available on the market. I am using them on my 1966 Paramount racing bike, which simply doesn't look right with black wall, heavily decorated tires. I'm not willing to make the performance sacrifice though, so these are a good compromise. I was very disappointed to discover that the nominal 700 x 28 came nowhere close to measuring 28 after installation. Even weeks later, they were still far too narrow, measuring slightly over 23. They've been on the rim, stretching for a couple of months at this writing and have finally expanded to almost 27. Bottom line: These are good clincher (not a sew up) tire for a period restoration of a racing bike that provides decent performance and are adequately supple.

Two tires in the trash after 250 miles of riding
I bought these tires because I love the look for my "classic" style bike, and also I've had good luck with Clement/Donnelly brand tires on my gravel bike. Also reviews seemed to be pretty positive. Here's my problem, for whatever reason, I got through 2 of these tires in 250 miles of riding. First one lasted on 41 mile ride, when I went to get my bike out the next day I was surprised to see I had a flat tire. I replaced the inner tube and found that the reason I had a flat was that the tire had a 1 inch gash in it, and the inner tube was bulging out. Assuming I just had bad luck and must of ran over something sharp I bought a replacement.200 miles later, the exact same thing happens, a long gash starting at the sidewall and running through the tread, although this time at least the inner tube doesn't poke through the tire.Given that I have 3 other bikes, and tens of thousands of miles of riding on them, and have never seen this happen before, after it happens twice to this type of tire I have to conclude it's a flaw in the tire itself. My third replacement is going to be a different tire.

Flats, flats, flats but they look cool?
These came on my Raleigh Super Course and they really complete the vintage look. However, I've had the bike for less than a year, ridden about 800 miles and I've gone through five inner tubes and two of these tires. I was trying to find a better tire but still with some kind of rubber or white accents to keep the cool look, and it seems like most gimmicky-look road bike tires have reviews from people with excessive flats, so I don't know what would be an improvement. Before I go for boring black tires I'm going to give these one more shot with Mr. Tuffy Tire Liners in them and see if the rate of flats decreases. Bottom line--don't ever be without tube changing supplies and a patch kit if you're trusting these any distance away from home.

Classy modern tire for classic frames
Look great, ride well, and holding up so far500 miles in so far on these on my fixed gear road bike.Pros:Tan sidewalls look great on single color round tubed bikes with silver componentsGood size/weight ratio - on 23mm rims (18mm internal) these measure at 30.3 and 30.8mm and 265/281g respectively for the pairRide great at 70-80PSI on road, hard pack dirt, or light gravelFeel considerably more lively than the 32mm Ultra Gatorskins they replaced. Dropped a full half pound off the wheels but only 1-2mm in actual width.500 miles in so far and no punctures or cuts. Rear tire is only showing the tiniest bit of wear, front looks brand new.Cons:Tan sidewalls not available in the 120TPI version28mm version will not fit many road bikes with tight clearancesBottom line:Great all around tires and one of the best available if you want tan sidewalls.

These are long-lasting, high-quality gumwall tires - lightweight, low rolling resistance, and they look great. One minor complaint - the tread isn't perfectly straight and wobbles side to side on mine, but this has not impacted performance.

and the other enough to see and definitely not good enough to ride
Ordered 2 28mm stradas... both had warped casings, one was severely warped, and the other enough to see and definitely not good enough to ride.Wither i was sold bad stock that should have been recalled, or clement just sucks at making tires, or both. Either way, look elsewhere for tires.

I gave them 2 stars (versus 1) because they look great and went on the HED Belgium rim very easily
I picked up a pair of these from my local shop, special order. After reading countless reviews of praise, my experience with these tires have been the total opposite. I gave them 2 stars (versus 1) because they look great and went on the HED Belgium rim very easily. But their puncture protection was non-existent. I have them on a multi-purpose bike which also sees commuter use. I've tried a dozen different brands of tires, riding the same route and they've all held up pretty well over the 7 years of commuting. My first ride on these, 3 flats in 8 miles. They were properly inflated, debris checked in between flats and no signs of snake bites.I cannot recommend these tires if durability over puncture prone surfaces is a requirement.
