Davy Crockett or Daniel Boon Style CoonSkin Hat Cap with Real Tail Size Large to X Large

These were awesome! Slightly big if they are worn by kids but all in all very satisfied! The real tail was so good!

I love this cap. It’s loose fitting, so it looks a bit - insouciant if that’s the right word? (Where did THAT word come from in my brain just now? Haha) Anyways - I feel like I can put it on for where I want to wear it, and it won’t totally mess up my hair. It’s kind of cool that the raccoon tail is real.. also, it makes me feel kind of weird/sad that it’s real. Like - better than plastic for the environment? Sure. Do all living things die and leave behind all of their hair/fur/tails etc, which we as enterprising humans can then wear if we want? Certainly. But….. you know…. I have a feeling that the original tail holders didn’t die of old age if you know what I mean…. Well I hope, at least, that while they were alive they had fun and didn’t suffer too much, and that the tail procuring process was thoughtful and designed to minimize any and all distress as they exited their fur suits. <3

I got my dad this gift, I think he will love it, but it was a bit big for my head. Also the picture it shows a bigger tail, it’s really not that big. Maybe that’s good because it would pull the hat down. Here’s a picture next to my hand, I have a big hand for a girl but it’s not that much bigger. So it’s not as advertised, but honestly I don’t care. It’s a pretty awesome hat, soft and looks awesome. Im gonna order another one for me, and try to make it a bit smaller. Hopefully it’s the same or better.

Interesting item. Was purchased as a novelty gift for a party, not sure I could find a regular use for it. Quality is okay.

This hat apparently has a real raccoon tail. The synthetic hair body is pretty good match color wise but that body is thin, very light in weight and not a real weather guard like those that I wore as a kid many years ago. My hat had ear flaps and was all made from authentic animal pelt. The tail snapped off so it was subjected to separation from the hat on the school playground. So I am told. (:-)))) The company should make one that is for cold weather with those ear flaps that are essential winter wear in many parts of the world. I like the hat is looks pretty good because the tail saves the day. I even dug out my Henry flintlock. It is very gift able because I really can't imagine anyone not wanting to wear this to a party or office. A good value for the money. I do wish that the body of the hat had flaps and was a little heavier in build. I realize that these extra features would raise the price, but still, it would lend practicality to this unique chapeau. A reasonable increase in price would be acceptable if the improvements were made. It is what it is, and for the money a pretty neat hat. Buy it for fun. Wear it everyday and who knows, someday you may awaken as Daniel Boone. I borrowed the Presidential Goggles. (See Image)

Baby raccoon? I received this hat, and it fits my head good (I have a larger head) but wow, the raccoon tail is so small!! Im thinking it came from perhaps a baby raccoon? Lol - it is small enough that it doesn't hang down when you wear the cap, instead it sticks straight out the back. I would have preferred a larger tail that actually hangs straight down. But, decent hat overall.
