While the socks are pretty good at keeping my feet warm, after finally being caught in a pretty good downpour on my Seattle commute, I found that they are not waterproof. At first, I thought it was just my feet being sweaty, but I hadn't had this problem in the normal drizzle of Seattle. This led to some pretty embarrassing looks from co-workers and annoyance due to wet feet as I was taking them off. Luckily I had a spare pair of socks in my desk. I was wearing my normal rain gear which cover the ankles fully, so there was no chance of the water streaming down my legs and into the sock. After washing them (by hand) and letting them dry, I turned them inside out and put water... and sure enough, there were leaks in a few places. This was only one of the pairs, but I have yet to try this test out on the 2nd pair. Maybe poor QA?

1st of all, the socks are not waterproof. I walked thru a creek for 30 minutes and my feet were totally cold and wet. The socks worked better while hiking/walking in a rain storm.
