Toxic Chemical Smell
I am active duty, and the heels in my regulation boots are too worn to wear even another day. I can retire in a few months and didn't want to spend a couple hundred on new boots, so decided to try these. The size is equivalent to my regular boots, and they fit well and are comfortable (unlike Rothco which are so big, I couldn't even guess what size to order). They are shorter than regulation and the shoe strings don't wrap around the top so you can tuck them in, but they work. However, these boots smell like some sort of chemical weapon, so I washed them in the washing machine with detergent and Borax, then left them in the sun for a week. They actually held up under this and still look new, but the smell didn't go away. I wore them to work today, and am getting a headache from the chemical smell, so decided to research if Chinese fake leather is toxic. Guess what? Lots of nasty chemicals that are banned in other countries, and that can be carcinogenic, cause anemia and immune disorders, and body heat seems to activate the chemical reaction. The boots are now in the corner, I am in my socks, and the boots will go in the trash as soon as I get home. I wasted money, instead of saving.

Heel was damaged
Bought for my son’s Halloween costume. The boots came but had damage like the mold was bad when they put them together. Son wants to keep but if I had time I would have returned them.

Save money for Bates/Danners
Update: Had these boots for a month. Eyelets from the laces are starting to pull out; and the stitching has failed on a portion of the boot. These boots haven't been used in any sort of heavy or intense environment.Good: Sole is vulcanized to the upper, Stitching seems fine, Lightweight.Bad: Zero Arch support (worse than Converse all stars), Zero ankle support, Laces too short, laces seem weak.If you are buying these for occasional wear; they will be fine. They were painful and no support in either the ankle or arch. Replace the insole with something better and they will be alright. If you are looking for something to work 12 hours a day, day in and day out, I wouldn't count on these. Save your money for a pair of Danners, Belleville, Altama or Bates boots. I have a pair of Belleville and Bates boots that I wore every day for 8 years; for 12+ hours a day. No signs of wear, no "break in period". They just work.

Good enough for CAP and JROTC.
I bought these for my daughter, she is in the Civil Air Patrol. I bought 2 sizes down, and they're still too big for her. Keeping them since I'm sure she's still growing. Quality looks to be pretty decent considering the price. if you want real combat boots you can wear every day, you should be spending at least $100. Go with Bellville or Corcorans. Rockies are great, but you're going to be spending even more.. For once a week or less CAP or JROTC meetings, I'd say these are acceptable. (If they fit.)

Where do I start
Very inconsistent even between shoes. The one is quite well done. The other where the sole meets the shoe has been completed by a trainee. Very poor. Big difference between the right and the left. Got them yesterday and tried them on. Seemed OK but were very hard inside. you need an insole. I put one in and not bad. I wore them today for a few hours and the one shoe has developed a crack between the sole and the shoe. We will see how long it stays on. I didn't expect much for $32 but I didn't think it would start self destructing the first day. Also, they say these are leather but I'm not convinced. If it is leather I suspect it's something like bonded leather. Very odd feel. I didn't have big plans for these. Just thought they would be good for some dirty jobs. Wasn't expecting a lot but even at $32 they should be good for more than one day.

Outstanding Bang for the Buck!
After paying for overpriced boot for many years, this product is a breath of fresh air. Right out of the box these boots fit true, were lightweight, and comfortable. I believe American-made footwear is usually higher quality, but the value is outstanding. If you're in the market for a pair of duty or field (Hot weather) boots, give them a try. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Comfortable, not durable
I purchased this boot to see if I liked the style. I was looking for a fast drying boot that would shed water for wetland and stream work. I figured at the low price it would not last, but if the style met my purposes I could buy the same style from a better manufacturer. The boot is really comfortable, dries quickly, is very light, and sheds mud well. The sole, came off the boot after the third or fourth time I wore them. While I expected it not to last, I did expect more than four wearings. If you are not going to abuse them like I do, it would probably last a lot longer.

For $30 these boots are a good bang for your buck
For $30 these boots are a good bang for your buck. As a former U.S. Marine I have have had several pairs of USGI combat boots in my day, including made in USA Vietnam era and post-Vietnam era jungle boots bought with my own private funds after military service, which no doubt are top notch quality if you can find them, but those tend to cost at least $100 for a nice pair. Sure these Fox Outdoor boots are made in China, but as far as reproduction boots go, these are pretty nice and are surprisingly comfortable. The toe box is not too large like with the Rothco version. I know these will not last forever, but for a back up pair or for casual use they are solid. Time will tell how long they last, so we'll see. I bought the OD green and black, but at this price will be ordering a solid black pair also.

not your ordinary boot - quite hard to find
This is the old-style jungle boot from the Vietnam era with an excellent bold tread and softer sole. These fit well and have been very comfortable. The are excellent for rough and uneven terrain and they are excellent on ice as they have a better grip and softer sole which adheres much better than regular boots. Not designed for cold but they work better than anything else I have found. NOT water-proof.
