I highly advise buying this book (Amazon, please add a "Look Inside" section!!)
I just got it in the mail today. Full color, all constructions in the book appear to be LDD in origin, so excellent quality and parts list for each step. Book covers mini and minifig scale. The majority of the book covers Minifig scale though. All constructions are VERY nice, and every construction comes with instructions for building it.The content is as follows: LOTR - 2 models, Tournament scene - 3 models, GoT - 2 models, Robin Hood - 2 models, Medieval scene - 2 models, Castle - pgs 201-306!!!, Sleeping Beauty - 2 models, Throne Room details - 6 models, Harbor scene - 1 models. The Castle section alone is huge, 100+ pages on the construction of the castle that is on the cover of the book!Notable models...Tower of Orthanc, Dragon, Catapult, Castle, Throne room items. Also has a small 2 page color section only detailing different ideas for food! I highly recommend this book for the castle builder! The only drawback...the ink stinks!Happy building everyone!

geat lego kingdom ideas
great ideas for my lego kingdom. instructions are easy to follow and models are beautiful. the only problem is hunting down the legos to build these creations. As an adult collector who as been creating from legos for thirty years i found them fun and easy to build; however, i did not have legos as a child and have no practical "kid experience" My eight year old son helped me with several models but didn't think he could have built several of them himself. My three year old son looks at the book for hours on end,so we all do enjoy it and recommend this book highly

The inside of this book has a lot of step-by-step instructions for building things that look just like the directions that come
I bought this as a gift for a seven year old nephew who loves Legos, to encourage him to move beyond the pre-made kits and build things of his own invention. The inside of this book has a lot of step-by-step instructions for building things that look just like the directions that come with Lego kits. I heard some uncertainty expressed from him about 'but I don't have those pieces!' as he flipped through it so it's not a perfect gift in that sense for a kid who likes things very precise. We'll see if it does push him to build beyond the box; more likely, it won't get used much.

This book provides nice instructions for some of the models displayed in the pictures but not all (some of the inner buildings). The instructions are reasonably easy to follow and are fairly nice for a group collaboration where each person builds a couple of the pieces. It does take a fair about of Lego to build so you may need to buy more or substitute some of the pieces.

Full of ideas with demonstration
My 10 yo.son LOVES this book. I am impressed with the numerous builds that are demonstrated. (He had been disappointed by past Lego books that just showed ideas without demonstration.)His main interest has been the castles. There are some pieces that he does not have for the rooflines, but he has creatively altered the plans using what he has.

Lego Castle Lovers look no further!
A great set of instructions for building a large castle and other accessories. The instructions are complete, clear, and include parts lists. The pieces of the castle wall are modular so this castle could be built in multiple configurations. It is an awesome book for Lego castle lovers.

Disappointment
Big disappointment. Limited actual castle building ideas or content. Chunky brick built wizard and dragon. Detailed tree. Catapult, castle "extras". If you're looking for instructions or unique ideas to incorporate in your castle project, more can be found searching online. Thick but overpriced for the content.

Not many practical building ideas
The first book I received was missing pages. Amazon corrected this.As so many Lego building books, there are very few easy ideas and very few instructions. It is mostly a book of impressive Lego creations. I bought since Lego doesn't have castle sets out right now and that is one thing my child is interested in. But, I will only get a few ideas from this. Would not buy again - would just look at ideas on the Internet instead.
