York Nordic - 2 Pack - Shock-Absorber Suspension Walking/Hiking/Trekking Poles - adjusts 45 to 61 inches

I originally purchased these because I was weary of my collapsible hiking poles collapsing to 2' tall mid-stride, so I wanted poles still usable even at their minimum height. It was a stroke of luck to have settled on these. Because of bad knees, I had been unable to hike on any trail with more than the slightest incline. These poles have freed me to walk on average, up-and-down trails like a normal person.Standard trekking poles lack the very strong compression spring needed to provide a height adjustment with every step. As one plants these poles on an incline, however, they compress to exactly the right height needed to support upper body weight (which height, of course, varies with the hiker and terrain). This means that I no longer need to rely on my knees to "push" me uphill or to prevent me from falling downhill. The sensation is akin to being a four-legged animal, which even those with good knees will appreciate.

These I could rave about for the next 10 years. The first time I used these I was able to walk a block when I haven't been able to do so for the last 3 months. My back was straight and I wasn't hunched over like with a cane. Changing my posture helped my knee. My knee pain was immediately reduced from 100% to 30%. It felt heavenly. There's also an after effect I didn't know about. When I'm back at work, after walking with the poles at lunchtime, or after walking outside at home on the weekends, I've noticed the pain doesn't go back up to 100% right away.

These are wonderful! I had hip repair surgery in July and serious back surgery in November of 2015. My surgeon told me to walk to help the weakness in my back, legs and hips. I was walking with a cane and switching back and forth to support both sides. A woman from Norway suggested walking poles. I couldn't walk the distance or time without them. My hip pain was decreased by about 50%, and the spring in the poles gives you the extra push to make it up hill and supports you as your going downhill. I would recommend theses to all!

have had never seen a pair of trekking poles except on tv. i need help walking and these poles work much better than a cane. have noticed people looking at my poles . their looks change when i get up ( nore struggling to get up from chair) and walk off.the poles stay out in front of you while walking. work super well. have passed the ultimate test, my wife shook head when she first saw the poles. another crazy i had bought from someone. on way out of doctor's office last week, she said you may have to get me some of those things. yeah, they work

Light weight. The grip is extremely comfortable, and the shock absorbers help me walk without stressing an injured rotator cuff. One of the rubber tips fell off and was lost, but replacements are fast, cheap and easy (got the pack of four). They've made a big difference on the days I couldn't take my walker out of the house because the snow piles from the plows, particularly at intersections, were impossible to get over. The spikes make a very stable grip going over ice and snow, particularly if one's balance is not great. And they're pretty!

They arrived quickly. I had no problem adjusting the height for me. I used the website videos for instructions - excellent resource. I have trouble walking due to severe back pain, but Nordic walking with these poles is working out really well. It helps to focus on being outside in good weather doing something fun.

We received the poles and have just started using them. I am able to tell a big difference in the upper body workout. I got my husband the black ones and he likes them very much. I am 5'2" and the height was perfect the way they came to me. I actually looked at a much more expensive pair and I am glad that I chose the Nordic pair.

I am so glad I researched, and then purchased, these shock-absorbing walking poles. I volunteer at a local park where I often walk uneven ground or paths. Yesterday I used my new poles for the first time on frost-crusted and muddy plowed corn fields. I could not believe how stable I felt, especially since I have knee issues. I do not think I could have finished my walk without these poles. I expected my knees to be painful today, but I am pleased to say that they are fine. I am a true believer in these shock-absorbing poles! Thank you, York Nordic!

My husband loves these poles. They give him stability after knee replacement and an aerobic workout. Will buy again when I need a pair.
