Manhunt [ITV]

Top notch.
This film is excellent, well made and acted. I had never been much of a Martin Clunes fan before seeing Manhunt, but he is outstanding in this part I think. Have watched it several times now.

Terrific performance by Martin Clunes
Moving and informative TV drama depicting a stoical, diligent detective doing everything he possibly could to find the possible serial killer of young girl and women in a normally safe London suburb based on real life events. The constant carping of his wife nearly drove me mad as, instead of doing all she could to support her husband in getting this monster of the streets, she kept berating him about his lack of participation in family events and the effect on her own career. The killer was made to look uncannily like the murderer and is also a very good actor. First class, intelligent drama which British television is so good at.

Muted
Based on a true story, the adapted plot felt it needed a bit more bite (so loses a star). Nevertheless, a great drama with good acting. The frustration of office politics was part of life that caused a death.

By golly, brilliant
We had watched the second series of this on TV and were glued to it.Somehow we had missed the first series when broadcast, so tried it on catch up. However there were no subtitles, and for some speech we like to have them on. Bizarrely, none were actually available so, wanting to see the original series, we checked the Amazon listings. They showed that subs were available on the DVD so we bought it.The DVD arrived very quickly and a rainy afternoon saw we binge-watching. With subs.Equally as good as the second series.Simply have to recommend both as must-watch series. Rare on TV these days.

brilliant
I saw this on tv some years ago and missed the last episode through some political crisis. The BBC is not beyond that, and will do this whenever something 'important' happens. I saw the opportunity and brothersand sisters i wasn't sorry. This is an oldfashioned detective story as only the British can make them on a dailybasis. No spoilers, buy it.

Confusing review , but let me explain
I have just finished watching the second series called The Night Stalker, and was about to write a five star review when I realised that my review of the first series has been placed in this section by mistake. However, I cannot praise it too highly, with the hard work, long hours, the tedium of surveillance, but eventual success. Martin Clunes again portrays a dedicated and honest police officer. After these two series requiring binge watching (!) I hope that there is a series three.
