Frail upholstery, difficult to build, but good service
I purchased this chair on sale from Staples in January 2018. Not even a year later the PU leatherette material began to fray and peel away from the fabric on the seat cushion. It only got worse with time as more spots began to fray. Fortunately, OFM Inc has a "limited lifetime warranty" on this product. What that actually means for this chair is a 2-year warranty on materials and upholstery. So I contacted OFM Inc via email, got a confirmation ticket on Monday, then they had a replacement chair on my door step by Tuesday afternoon. I'm very impressed with how fast they came through with a replacement and it's the only reason I'm not going into 2-star territory with this review. As for building, you basically get what you pay for. It comes with the allen wrench and phillips screwdriver combo tool you need, but it's relatively difficult when compared to other office chairs. The most difficult portion of the build is connecting the seat and back cushions together with 6 bolts (3 on each side). I wish this part were preassembled at the factory, then have the customer do the rest, as it difficult align the brackets with the threaded nuts hidden deep inside the chair's cushion and obscured by upholstery. I rested the cushion and back up against a table to free my hands for the allen wrench, which also give me the proper angle to align the components. I'd also recommend building this on top of its box to give you ground clearance for the bottom bolts. All in, it probably took me 20-30 minutes to build, but it's simply lazy engineering to use the 20+ bolts and washers needed to assemble this thing. As for comfort, test the chair without the lumbar pillow first. I later found it to be more comfortable without the lumbar pillow and ended up repurposing the pillow as an elbow rest. Outside of that, the chair is very much on the stiff end of the comfort spectrum, which suits my needs. I never go full tilt on the recliner, but it can get up to 130 degrees or so. Definitely not comfortable enough to sleep on, but it's relatively easy to get into an ergonomic position with the adjustable arm rests and reclining back.

Made from cheap materials, avoid this product.
Only had this product for 2 years. Within a year, the material would crack or peel in spots. The hydraulics in the base failed and no longer keeps the chair up. It "floats" closer to the floor when any weight is put on it.But my main concern is the lack of quality in the welding points and metal material used. I am not a heavy person by any means, but yesterday I sat down and leaned back on my chair to feel the left side cave backwards. I disassembled the chair to find the weld point on the bottom left side of the back had completely separated. I tried to reconnect it using a steel epoxy putty which seemed to hold well enough. I reassembled it, and as soon as I sat back down, it completely collapsed. Welding points snapped in numerous spots, but the metal pipe used in the left vertical section of the chair back COMPLETELY snapped. Not at a weld point, just at a hole drilled for the banding to attach to. This is the perfect definition for chinesium as this could have caused serious injury had I not been extra careful when testing the chair after attempting a repair.Save yourself from headaches and avoid this chair.

Poorly manufactured
I actually purchased this chair from a warehouse store, but it is so awful i feel I should warn Amazon shoppers. This chair has minimal instructions and they don’t tell you anything. None of the holes lined up for assembly, so it was a constant wrestling match to assemble. This is truly a case of getting what you pay for. The only reason it received 1* is there is not an option for none. Save yourself the headache and buy name brand.
