Total ControlⓇ Cool Touch Damper Handle for Weber Smokey Mountain WSM Kettle Knob BBQ Smoker Damper Thumb Handle

I purchased this handle for both of my Weber kettles. Such a quality of life improvement. No longer do I have to wack the vents to open or close them. Handle stays cool to the touch even when doing a high heat burn-off. The leverage on the vents is pretty nice too. Installation was simple, drill a hole in the upright of the vent, thread in the handle and install the nut. If you have some thread locker I do suggest using some as the heat and cooling cycles may loosen the handle over time.

I was sick of playing games with my too-hot damper control. This accessory should honestly be part of the original product from Weber, not sure why it isn't. Anyways, this is very easy to install and makes operating the kettle more enjoyable. Not sure why I waited so long to get this.

Works perfectly. Takes a 1/4" drill bit for the hole and a 10mm wrench to tighten the nut.

Used a drill to make a hole in metal handles for upper and lower vents on my Weber 18” Joe I use for camping and tightened the vents. Also bent those tabs slightly so these handles won’t be against the hot grill. Now, I get great airflow control for cooks and can adjust the vents without burning my fingers. Very nice little mod. Works perfect.

I definitely needed this. Only issue is the screws loosen sometimes. May need some time of loctite or a not the lock nut. Other than that, love it.

Great addition to any kettle grill. Installed one on my vent and one on the lid. I love not having to reach for the lid, once I open my Master Touch. Once it's in the lid holder, it's a little difficult having to reach over the hot grill or to get behind it to close the lid. Installing this little handle solves that. As for using on the vent, this should be a factory install. It makes adjustments so much easier. In my case though, I grill pizza every Friday night and had too much wood in the kettle. I would estimate over 8-900 degrees, because I melted the handle off. This cool touch handle makes a great fix. You need a drill to install, but the vent is aluminum and takes about 15 seconds to drill through. Super easy to install. Highly recommended!

I have added this to my 57cm weber kettle. Much easier and safer to open top vent now.

Nice and small. Fits Weber Go-Anywhere well. I used a 6mm drill bit.

It's a little smaller but worked out perfectly and it fits so I am happy.

I purchased this product for all four vents and I am glad I did. Never get too hot and provide leverage for when the smoker is cold and the vent harder to open due to accumulated residue from our various cooks.
