Great solar LED lights
So I've been looking at the reviews for this item. The first thing I don't like is that multiple variations show up under the same review list, but that's on Amazon. However, after reading the myriad of reviews, it's fairly obvious that people (on the negative side) have no experience with outdoor solar lighting. They give the product a bad review when they don't really understand how solar lights work. First, this solar charger has 2 switches..on/off and the modes. If you install them, charge them and they don't turn on, it probably just needs to be turned on. As far as how solar lights or anything solar works, there HAS to be a battery to charge during the day so they work at night. Saying "they're truly solar" doesn't make any sense. Theres a rechargeable battery somewhere. As far as "shutting off when a car goes by (at night) that's because the solar panel and the light sensor are on the same plane. If you aim the panel where the sun is and it's also facing the road where cars go by, they'll turn off when light hits it. My suggestion for those people is to flatten the panel more horizontally, so car lights don't affect function but still collect light during the day. Also, LED doesn't dim when the battery gets low...they're either ON or OFF. if they don't charge long enough for whatever reason, they wont stay on as long. For the money, these are the best on the market. I've had several solar spotlights and other lighting for the last 7 years, all from various manufacturers. I'm guessing somewhere around 70+ lights. These are pretty great comparatively.

Freedom from Expensive Xmas Decor!
The bulbs are small, which is fine, and they charged up fast, just a few hours and I had sparkling, no electricity needed (fave part). There are different settings, and blinking or steady. I love the solar panel. What's not to love about christmas lights that won't affect your electric bill? AND they are inexpensive and pretty. I've bought other solar lights like this before, and they are long lasting. Very pleased.

Works, but....
Update: with some experiments I've fpund that laying the panel as upward as possible (10 -25 degrees) toward the sun actually perfoms better then turing it true toward the sun. Was able to get 11 hours of twinkle lights in a charge. No battery swap.Original post: The lights work. Easy enough installation. Cloudy days have filled the area, so getting a full charge has been spotty. Even still, I get 4-6 hours of charge so long as it's not rainy all day. Also, for the Manufacturer, you may want to revise or investigate. Unit was shipped with 1200mah batteries, not the listed 1800mah. I had fully planned to upgrade the batteries, but was surprised when I opened the unit.

Product reviews are for the wrong item and the solar lights shut off when a car goes by.
* A lot of the reviews shown for the SOLAR product are for the BATTERY powered lights. So BE AWARE!* The SOLAR lights work well and look fine EXCEPT when a car goes by a night. We wanted to use them on a split rail fence at the start of our driveway, but as soon as anyone even comes close to the drive entrance, the photocell shuts the lights off so our guests can't see the lights.* We can't point the solar panel away from the entrance because it would be pointed away from the sun.* I sent a request via Amazon to the seller and it is no longer there and never responded to.* My wife wants me to return them all. We only put one set out, so the others we ordered were never taken out of the box.* Disappointed.

FIVE STARS!
We put this around a small blue spruce tree outside and one strand filled it! Tonight we came home and they were on and they are the coolest ever! The lights run through a cool pattern of flashing, etc. haven’t played with any settings, just turned them on but i love them and will be buying more! You cant even see the strand on the tree during the daylight, they hide nicely. I just love them, and the solar aspect means i can put them almost anywhere!

Awesome, but requires clever positioning of solar panel
First off, I love this idea. Solar christmas lights so I don't have to run extension cords. This is great. The lights are bright enough. Not super bright but bright enough. The tricky thing is positioning the panel. It turns the lights off when it detects that it is light outside and on when it's dark outside. You need to position it so that it gets sunlight, but also so the lights themselves (or other lights) don't shine on the panel and trigger the lights to turn off. I wish the panel had an attachable shield to block unwanted light. And obviously this won't work if the panel is covered with snow. The panel has a bunch of different programs for the lights to blink and fade in and out. I assume the battery will last longer with the lights fading on and off as opposed to always on. So far, my lights are still on in the morning before the sun comes up. But Christmas time has the least amount of sunlight, so the struggle is real.Overall I am happy with my purchase and hope to expand the solar christmas lighting next year. Also, if you get a single-colored strand of lights you may be able to use it all year to light up a backyard patio or deck, or a walkway.

Save your money!
These are an absolute joke of engineering. I bought them to decorate a tree close to the road of our house, and figured solar would be easy peasey, but these had no quality control. One set did not light at all. The other would only light up if the solar panel was facing down on a flat surface (rather negates the purpose). I opened the back to see if it was just a loose connection from shipping, and nope. It's just that shoddy. The battery in these was 1 AA lithium ion (or so it claimed). I tested the batteries in each as well, and they had power, so the wiring is just terribly done. To fix it, I would have had to do some serious rearranging of the innards, and it just wouldn't be worth the time or effort. Especially so if the rest of the wiring throughout the lights is just as bad. Save yourself the trouble and avoid these lights/this manufacturer at all cost.

Dissapointing
Started off nice and bright, but after the first 3 days they are dull and dont stay on for very ong before they run out of charge. Bit disappointing.

Really Dim - But Seller Really Helpful
Spent ages stringing the lights up, put the solar panel in a nice bright space and after two weeks the lights are still really dim. In fact, you wouldn’t even know they were on unless you look straight at a bulb in close to pitch black conditions. If I could be @rsed to take them down again, I’d return them. But I can’t now.Update: have been in contact with the seller who has organised a refund as a gesture of goodwill since I was not able to remove the lights without destroying them. If only all sellers were that good.

Lovely purple LED solar lights
Put up around an arch in the garden. Beautiful purple light which creates a nice contrast to the other white solar lights which I’ve installed. So far they have worked well I will update if there are any problems. There was no remote control in our package but I would not have used that anyway.

Don’t work very well in December
These lights need more daylight than is available in the uk in the run up to Xmas. On a dull day you get about an hour of light. Look for mains or battery powered if you are looking for lights to work every day in December, otherwise you will maybe get a few hours once a week if you leave them switched off and charging for 6 days.
