InMotion V8 Electric Unicycle

I totally love this thing! I was very apprehensive about buying this wheel after reading how hard it is to ride, I expected the worse but it was not nearly as bad as claimed!I would compare learning to ride this to learning to ride a bicycle for the first time, same difficulty and same problems. The moving wheel helps you balance and standing still in one place is not possible for mere mortals so the biggest problems are just getting on and getting moving, just like a normal bicycle!It took me 3 sessions of about 30min each to learn the basics before I was able to go on a 5mile ride. I am still a bit shaky but after 4 days I took it in to work (I ride 3 miles to the bus stop) and it was just great. Not very practical in the city center though - too much going on on the pavements and I can just not go slow enough so it is just more of a hassle than walking, but my trip to/from the bus this is a life saver!Some advice - do get the protective cover and do use a strap when learning - strap through the handle only to catch it when you come off - don’t pull the strap while riding!

This device has a high learning curve and is quite hard to learn in a short period of time. Not recommended to purchase unless you have at least two months time to practice learning how to use it. Attempts at a refund was met with silence. Not worth the money brand new.

I saw lots of great reviews before I bought about a month ago ... now I can confirm all of them. It is sooooo beatup from all the falls on rocks and streets... not to mention running into solid metal fences while learning.... yet its still running like nothing happened. Yeah it’s scratched all over the place... but none of the plastic has broke ... yet. It’s solid. Oh and the lights on the side... just makes it look so cool at night.

Mine won't charge fully anymore after just 3 months of ownership. It charges to like 88%. I contacted Customer Support they said it must be my app, but the battery indicator on the wheel also reads low after hours of charging. Plus the wheel runs out of batteries really fast. InMotion website and ads claim a 30 mile range, but after talking with support they said to expect 15-20 miles give or take and that's with a 100 pound rider going 10 mph. Since I weigh like 145 and like to ride around 14 mph and occasionally go up slight inclines I can only get about 10 miles out of this wheel. I'm a little frustrated I bought this thinking it could go 30 miles on a charge and then I find out it's more like 10-15. That's 1/3rd of the range promised by SoloWheel/InMotion. Overall it's a good product but I feel scammed by the mileage and lack of support with my battery that won't hold a full charge. I feel like I wasted a lot of money since the battery will only get worse over time and already is failing after 3 months. It's a shame.

I didn’t buy mine off amazon, hence not verified purchase, but I indeed bought a Solowheel Glide 3. It says it’s top speed is 18, but it’s hard to push it past 16mph. But unless you intend to zip around in traffic that’s usually fast enough. I really only have 2 complaints. The app has too much Chinese. It’s a little better after the last update though. My biggest complaint is that after the battery drops below 50% (or somewhere around there) it starts limiting it’s top speed, presumably to maximize range. I’d prefer the option to maximize speed over range, because 10-12mph feels slow once you get decent at riding, and the path ahead of you is open and clear. Other than that it’s a load of fun.

Easy to control, very mobile when need to hop into train. Fits very well for city riding by sidewalks and cyclists lanes.
