Not rugged. Good for parts?
The best thing about this tripod is the pan head: very, very smooth. The worst thing is that one of the legs broke off (as others have noted) after only a few uses.I'm taking the head off the broken tripod and putting it on another, cheaper (half the price) but more rugged (I hope) tripod.Bottom line: Don't buy it.

On a budget but don't want cheap quality? This may be the best basic Tripod for you:
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. So I uploaded a video on here to describe my thoughts and opinion of the ProMaster 7400 and it looks blurry on here. If you want more detail and quicker upload, please check that out on YouTube. In short, I love the tripod. Its basic for my needs, affordable, and super smooth in panning. My only 'con' is the base height adjuster feature. Its very plasticky and feels like I could break it at any time when rotating. But the quick fix to that is by simply being careful or add some lubricant like I did for a smoother movement ascending and descending. I have tried several brands and cheaper ones on here but this one is on point for the quality and price.

Works great for me for about 3 months, but completely fell apart after 6 months.
Nice inexpensive tripod that has a smooth moving head on top of it. Great as an inexpensive tripod setup to do videoing with. I use this for Nexus 5 Photospheres with a smartphone attachment and it makes my photospheres turn out perfect. Now I am looking for a better smartphone attachment.Edit:The little Metal rivets holding teh braces together fell off. First off one leg then of another. Then the hinge at the top of the tripod leg failed. The head of this one seems to be nice but as another reviewer said these legs are crap.I was actually given this buy a photography shop when I did some photospheres of the inside of their store.

Bad quality
I purchased a Promaster 7400 2 years ago and at 13 months it failed on a vacation. The thin aluminum braces supporting the legs at the bottom are aluminum rivets holding them together. The braces wore through one of the rivets. I contacted Promaster and was informed the warranty was only 1 year and to fix it and ship it was more than a new one. I installed a stainless screw in place of the rivet and in a few more months the plastic joint at the top end of a leg started failing. The head has worked fine so I have bought a new tripod and I am planning, with my fingers crossed, to use the Promaster head.

For the price, an excellent tripod for amateurs and professionals.
A light weight yet very sturdy tripod that has all the functions you will need for 35mm to larger cameras. The only reason I bought my 2nd one was I ran over it with my car. I have recommended it to all my photo students who have also found it an excellent item at a very reasonable price.
