Kashmiri Chilli Powder

Arrived 19th, not 12th. However excellent product and incredible value for money.

After attempting to make many home made Indian curries, something just didn't taste quite right although they were tasty it wasn't quite 'restaurant' flavour enough for me so I investigated further.A few book orders and some reading after (The Curry Secret by Kris Dhillon - The Curry Guy & The Curry Guy EASY - both by Dan Toombs all well worth a read if you are interested) I realised I was using (Waitrose) standard chilli powder which was great for chilli con carne but not the quite right ingredient for curries.So far I have made a Hyderabadi Bhuna Gosht, a chicken Balti and a Korma using this chilli powder and the difference is clear, this is the right ingredient and it makes the curries taste great and much more like I'm used to. The little changes in spices and ingredients really do make a difference in Indian cooking and its good to learn as you go along and make your favourite dishes.Now if only I can find somewhere to fit a Tandoor in my kitchen I'll be able to make proper Naan breads!

Excellent garam masala!

I love the colour and it's not as hot as normal chilli powder - sweeter taste. Cannot purchase this in any of the supermarkets I shop in, so I was happy to find it on line.

spices arrived on time as promised, quality second to none.

Most recipes calling for this type of chilli suggest that it is more for colour rather than heat but this powder certainly delivers a kick.

Very happy with this very red chilli powder, hot, flavoursome and aromatic.
