SUPERB Product - -
AWESOME Product. I purchased one of these compact air bellows for fires about a year ago. I used it for my fireplace insert at the house. It functioned Perfectly. I was very well please, so I purchased several more for my camping supplies and as gifts to family members. I will say this set of bellows is the very best I have ever used. It was shipped immediately and packaged well. If you enjoy camping and have a hard time getting the campfire kick-started or bringing old embers back to life without any problems - - get these bellows. You will be Amazed. They even come in their own storage case, for simple handling. You will not be disappointed. They make everyone an Excellent fire starter, even in the dead of winter.

Firestarter's Dream
When I first saw a friend with one of these, thought the idea was unnecessary and a waste of money. Boy, has my mind been changed! This pocket bellows is made extremely well, does a fantastic job of just what it needs to, is a great addition to the tools to get a fire going. Pocket-sized, really strong for what it is, I am using this about daily now that I am locked in at home and using a fire pit to add a little campfire to our daily lives to brighten up quarantine. It has held up well to daily use and just is really super handy for getting a good blast of air into the center of a fire to pump it up! Simple idea, very well implemented, high value if it is something you need! Will get another now so that I can have one at home and one for the camping kit!

Precision air = fast hot fire
Kids were amazed when I pulled out this tiny tube, took out the shiny cylinder, and expanded that into a portable rocket launcher! Okay, maybe not THAT dramatic - but still, kiddos were interested as I used this to blow out the fire over and over again. You have to start by blowing gently, people. Next, learn where to aim; straight at a coal is good, but through a "hot coal tunnel" is the real game-changer - especially if the resulting heat flare blows over some lightweight fuel or kindling. It then can be collapsed and returned to it's tube so that it is easier to find and protected. This is a high-quality, durable, compact tool that should last you for years, great for spreading - not starting - a spark. It has to have something to work with, so please use it to help a bed of coals catch into a fire or to blow sparks and heat where you need it. Great value. Get one. Just don't lose it and have to buy another ;)

Solid tool for camping/backpackers!
Bought this about 18 months ago. With pretty much weekly use it has unfortunately started to show its age. Buying a replacement now, for $15 for what’s essentially a retractable car antenna it has proven to be worth every penny. I would highly recommend. It’s small and compact and comes with its own protective container. Perfectly small for any camper/backyard fire pit to bring and start them fires quickly.

Works well, but not revolutionary.
This product works as advertised. It's not magic, but definitely lets you get air to where you want it and is wonderful for getting the fire going again after it has died down and you've added more wood. It's not that it's dramatically better than getting in there and blowing, just a hell of a lot more convenient. Not perfect, I would like to see it a little longer and with something like a flare at each end to help grip it to aid in extension, but it's a fun and functional tool. Naturally, the first thing I did after getting mine was to try to make a few of my own using a set of rabbit ears and a piece of copper water line from my old refrigerator. The three I made actually worked decently well, though I still strongly prefer the pocket bellows. The 2 from the rabbit ear antenna telescoped and held together well, but were thin throughout. That means you can't deliver as much air as quickly, though, it does mean you can sustain the air flow longer. The fire did not seam to get as hot due to this limitation, but it did still start the fire back up. The copper pipe was similar, though of course does not collapse at all. I'll probably keep the home-made ones by my fireplace at home and keep the pocket bellows in my camping fire kit. If this was half the cost, I would say it was absolutely worth trying. At the current price (~$13) it's nice to have, but not a necessity. I like it and will continue to use it. If you like the concept, but are cost conscious like me and have some old rabbit-ears laying around, make your own. It won't work as well, but may be enough for many people. See the included photo for the copper pipe, 2 rabbit-ear variants, and the pocket bellows.

Works as intended
This works very well. Yes, it’s small but for the purpose it was intended it does the job well. I use it for our outdoor patio and my Kamado when I’m starting the coals. I like that I can stick it in my pocket.

Works as advertised. Sure, it's "just an antenna" like others have said, but where can you buy an antenna that works for this purpose perfectly? I've been struggling with the winter weather and my sort of dry-ish but snow covered wood in down to 0F weather and this has been able to create way hotter fires with way less fire starter/kindling without all the light headedness and hot face than before. Absolutely recommended!

this is not good

I misunderstood what this product was - rather than a pump, it is a straw you blow through to more precisely direct air to the fire. It is useful, but when I think of bellows, I don't think of a collapsing straw, and the cost was high to get to the UK. It helps, but just isn't what I had expected.
