Float mortar over edge
This thing is a great bang for the dollar especially if you don’t want to make your own niche. It’s definitely a challenge tiling the inside of it that’s why I chose larger tiles. Installation is very easy if your semi-handy. The only thing to note is it installs AFTER your green board is up. Meaning the edge of the niche will rise about 1/8 of an inch off the wall so you’ll have to float the mortar to make the tile lay flat.

Don’t buy this if you plan to tile directly to it. FLIMSY
If you plan to also cut tile board to adhere to the back wall of this niche, this will be fine. However, don’t plan to tile directly to the niche as the listing suggests is possible. The back wall of this niche is flimsy and has too much give to accommodate tiling directly to it. If you do you’ll have tiles and grout popping off within a short time. There are other more rigid products available, go with one of those.

Flimsy
You get what you pay for. It's thin so it doesn't match the thickness of drywall/backer board. The ones Lowe's sell are more expensive but ten times better. I'm afraid because the back of the shelf flexes, the tile will eventually fall out and the mortar will fail.

This is the answer
Worked out great for us. Going to return thick Kerdi one I bought local for $104. We had to put ours in front of cement board because the wall was too shallow. Glued it in liberally and screwed it. Edges we're tough to tile with the uneven lip in front of cement board but with mastic feathered in it went good. Thanks for providing the item, for fast shipping and good price.

Plenty of room for tall bottles
We wanted an area for taller soap and shampoo bottles. This works perfectly for both. Seems to work and function as it should.
