have your own candles ready
The good news is that the Menorah seems solid and DOES fit standard birthday candles. The bad news is that the candles that come with it are smaller than standard birthday candles. Luckily for me I had just over 44 birthday candles on hand and the thin ones that come with it will be used on future birthday cakes.

Perfect Size for Traveling
We wanted to bring our menorah down to the in-laws but ours is too big and fancy but this little one comes with its own box and candles which will easily fit within our suitcase.

Not Enough Candles!
Unlike the original story of Chanukah, this menorah came with enough candles for only 7 and1/2 nights! Since they were birthday candles, if I’d had some I could have improvised. Unfortunately I had none. I realize the menorah didn’t cost much, but I bought it thinking it came with enough candles to last the holiday. Very disappointing!
