Mouse Paint Board book – October 31, 1995

I love how this book teaches about mixing two colors to come up with a new color. I also love how the mice hide from the cat and uses the cat's water dish to wash the paint off of their bodies.

Good book for kids to learn colors and color combinations.

I was expecting a smaller board book. Love that this is oversized.

I love this adorable story. Teaches children the magic of mixing colors, while enjoying a great book. Pictures are fun and storyline is too!

I love this book! The illustrations are delightful, the concepts are the simple basics of mixing combinations of blue, yellow and red to make green, orange and purple ( primary and secondary colors). These busy little mice can lead to many fun art projects with your children as they play with the concepts introduced in this charming little book. Children love it and you will too.

I love, love, love this book. It is so cute and while it tells the story about the three mice, it demonstrates how mixing the primary colors together result in other colors. I highly recommend this book!Update: There is a bit of a mess up in the color on one of the pages. I have the board book so it may only be in this version, but when the mice get in the paint, they are supposed to be blue, red and yellow. The red mouse however is orange, but only on this one page. The rest of the book is fine as far as colors go and it is still one of my favorites for teaching colors.

As an art teacher, I have read this book to hundreds of kindergartners over the years before teaching primary and secondary color theory. Now I read it to my 3 year old preschoolers before mixing colors for the first time. I also give this book as a baby gift in a “book basket”. Every child should know have to mix colors - especially by “doing a little dance!”
