描述
- Ship from US, delivered from 4 to 14 days.
- Goats Weed pepper (Capsicum Annuum perennial) is quite rare and can live for 15-20 years in the wild tropical environments and overwinters much better than most peps here in the north. Grew these in 17 gallon tubs and they really took off when the Michigan summer heated up.
- Written notes from zone 5 observations: Start seeds 7-9 weeks before last expected frost. (Do not use peat pots) Days to maturity from transplanting- green fruit 80-85 days Days to maturity from transplanting- black fruit 90-95 days Days to maturity from transplanting- red fruit 100-115 days.
- The pods range from 2-3" long by 1/2" wide, grow upward, and ripen from green to jet black and finally fluorescent red and you will see all of the plant and fruit colors combining at the same time later in the growing season which makes for a very attractive plant. Here in the north they are about 40,000 on the Scoville heat index, but can exceed 100,000+ in the southern climes.
- Uses for salsas, marinades for beef and chicken, or simmered with tomatillos, tomatoes and onions for a spicy sauce. Dried and crushed it into powder/flakes. Sampled them before writing this and have a licorice/bay leaf/ black pepper/herb heat. Very distinguishing flavor.
