works well for hollow door with a little work...
...need to get the excess material off with blade to make anchor sit flush before screwing it all the way in. you can also get a pack of twenty for the same price at any local big box store. also need to be careful if lining up two or more to get them level because of the shape of the anchor and where it "bites"

Finally! An anchor for holding a robe on bathroom door!
I tried screws but the crappy hallow door for my bathroom wouldn't hold anything like that, being just a thin veneer. This actually works, and well, and easily. Try it.

Got these to install a mirror on a door.
What can I say, they did the job just right. This is the only type of anchor I ever use.

If you have hollow doors you need these.
I decided to get 3 and 4 tier wire shelves to place on several closet doors. Pantry, bathroom, and misc closets. This allow for great organization. I ordered these metal anchors for the first self and they are wonderful. Of course I thought I already have the plastic ones for drywall so those should work. They do not repeat they do not. Spend the little bit to get these wonderful anchors.

Did the Trick on Hollow Doors
My wife wanted hooks on the bathroom door for towels, bathrobes, etc. Bitter experience prompted me to look for help on YouTube, and discovered these anchors. I followed the directions carefully, and they have survived several months of daily stresses, and they are as tight as ever. The video gave one good hint - After making the initial hole, and removing the anchor, remove the ridge on the hole with a box knife. This allows the hook to be mounted flush with the door.

Hollow door solution
These solved a five year problem. I could never get a coat hook to stay on the hollow door. These worked straight off.

Not the best on a hollow core door...
The nature of how this adheres to the door burrs up the surrounding material causing whatever you're attaching not to affix perfectly against the door's surface. I regret going with this screw in style. I carved the burr fibers as best I could but not a product I'd recommend or buy again.

Drill first! - work good
They worked alright, they say no drilling required so I didn't drill a hole but the tip broke off so I drilled a hole and they are holding just fine
