My SURFACE PRO 2 which I had bought in 2014 needed a replacement CHARGER ADAPTER with USB as it had broken at the point where the cord meets the 5 PIN metallic projection which attaches to the tablet. When I purchased this item on AMAZON it said " be the first to review this item". I was hesitant. My anxiety was quickly dispelled. IT WORKED! What was also very good was that the cord that plugs into the wall outlet is longer than the original Charger Adapter and this eliminates the chance of the thin cord, which is attached to the rectangular charger, breaking at this point as has happened to me before because I foolishly allowed it to hang suspended. In 2015 I had cause to have the original CHARGER ADAPTER replaced by MICROSOFT and luckily so as it was still under warranty. Now in 2018 I am soooooooo THRILLED AND HAPPY that I was able to find a replacement. THANK YOU AMAZON AND IAFER! DELIVERY WAS FAST! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM.

I purchased this cord to replace the original Microsoft Surface cord that came with my Pro 2. The original lasted 14 years. I did not want to spend big money on an original so I purchased this cord. It lasted a year or so. The magnetic strip became detached from its casing and eventually the connection failed. I purchased the same cord a second time fully aware that this separation may happen again. However, this time I intend to be much more religious about carefully removing the magnetic strip from the computer when I am done charging it. Can't beat the price.

I've replaced several of these. The cable gets weak where it leaves the main charging brick. This is the same on the Surface Pro2, 3, and 4 models. Adding a boot to protect the cable in this spot would make it much more durable. This or having it disconnect like the wall plug, a braided cord, etc. to extend the life would be nice. Can't beat this generic brand for the price.

I used it right away and it charged my Surface Pro 2 rather quickly. Whether it lasts I cannot say, however I do not typically travel with this device so not aware of how it travels. I’ve found in the past I am the type of person who folds my chargers and use Velcro to hold together so the cord does not get tangled or in other contact with items that can damage a cord. I am not typically a person who has to replace cords on a frequent basis.

The product seems to perform as well as the original (I'm using it on an original Surface Pro) and comes with a much longer power cord from the transformer to the wall socket. That's especially nice when at hotels where the outlet is further from the desktop. It also has the USB port on the transformer to charge a cellphone or other device. Product was also delivered well packaged and promptly.

I wasn't sure if the problem was on the computer or with the charger, but after attaching this it is absolutely the charger. This works perfectly, even better than the original did when the computer was new. Good item and good price.

The charger appears to work fine as a replacement for my original Surface Pro 2 charger. However, I notice that the light on the end of the charge plug stays lit during the entire time it is connected. The original charger would have the light go out after a period of time while charging - I assumed that indicated the device was fully charged and that charging went into a trickle mode. I'm not sure if this charger continues to charge after the device reaches full charge or not.

I had to send it back because the charger didn’t fit into the charge slot but that was my fault. I told my wife to order me a new surface Pro Charger, but I was unclear as to which one. Transaction was smooth, shipping great, & return very easy.
