The 544624 can be programmed and controlled with Robot pro software and the robotics TXT controller. The sensors' data can be collected and plotted on a graph. In addition, the 544624 can connect to a wife network, so that the camera can also be controlled from a distance. Beyond that, the TXT controller can be connected to a cloud server, in which the sensors' data is saved, and can be retrieved from anywhere in the world. Bad customer service and poorly prepared manuals
I had horrible experience with this German company. I wanted to start a class so I bought plenty of their products across the lines. Now, at Profi levels, more and more the models depend on the controller for them all to offer the best educational values. Day One the boxes arrived and the Controller broke. I reached out to both the seller and the company in Germany. They all pretended to provide technical support while all that meant was, "hey, there cannot be any problem. It should be working now". That's bad customer service.Another thing is that almost all of their products related to electronics do not have manuals for such equipment. You buy even a can opener and you get some instructions on how to use it property. If there is anything that is "okay" with Fischertechnik then it is the Building Instruction manual. It's okay, but it's all elementary. Comparing to other STEM educational packages ( I will not name names here), the "soft value" of post-purchase services from Fischertechnik is way too inferior. I will not come back to this company.

Nur in Verbindung mit sehr teurem weiterem Zubehör nutzbar
Mein Sohn hatte sich diesen Baukasten zum Geburtstag ausgesucht. Das war zwar ein wenig teuer, aber dafür hat er sich umso mehr auf sein tolles Geschenk gefreut.Als es dann ankam war er am Boden zerstört, weil man den Baukasten nur in Verbindung mit dem TXT Controller nutzen kann, der über 250 € kostet. Damit liegt der Einstiegspreis für diesen Baukasten über 400 Euro.Alternativ (?) kann man auch die ROBO Pro Software nutzen, die noch auf DVD (CD?) ausgeliefert wird und exklusiv auf Windows läuft. Direkt aus der Steinzeit. Auch das User Interface macht dieser Ode an schlechtere Zeiten alle Ehre.Wir geben den Baukasten auf alle Fälle zurück und kaufen uns lieber LEGO Mindstorms.Die wissen wenigstens, wie man Produkte macht, die Kindern auch Freude bereiten!

TXT Controller ist ein Klasse Gerät
Klar ist so ein Spielzeug mehr als das. Immerhin ist das Ziel, aus fremder Umgebung über Sensoren und Kamera das eigene Heim zu überwachen. Dafür und für den Lerneffekt und die vielen anderen Einsatzmöglichkeiten ist der Preis absolut OK. Da ergibt sich, dass die erste Einrichtung, die erste Meldung aus der Cloud nicht ganz trivial ist. Aber dafür spannend und befriedigend, wenn man es einmal geschafft hat. Beim Lego fängt man bei A an, denkt nicht viel nach und ist irgendwann bei Z. Fertig. Gerade hier in Norddeutschland ist man mit FT fast schon ein Exot, aber wenn die Freunde meines Jungen uns besuchen, wird schon ordentlich gestaunt, was so alles gebaut werden kann. Ein Mädchen (Smile) hat schon umgeschwenkt.

Low quality, Insufficient info and support
Nothing works without issues. Nobody tells you in advance that the Station will work only connected to the RoboPRO (means to your PC) when you use supplied program. There is no program to let you to use Station stand alone. You can not compile and download supplied program. as soon as you disconnect RoboPRO (Shut down your PC) or you switch off TXT there is no communication with your Station any more. You must go to RoboPRO and start from scratch. In addition, confusing info on website. Support is answering questions with useless information or wrong links to non existing web-pages. Do not buy!

Kein Kinderspielzeug
Sicher ist der Zusammenbau der Modelle auch für Kinder möglich. Der Sinn des Baukastens liegt m.E. aber im Erfassen von Umweltdaten und deren Weiterleiten über die Cloud an das Smartphone und damit hat man schon anspruchsvolle Themen vor sich. Es geht hier also nicht um Kugeln und Autos, sondern um Hightech. Altersempfehlung: mind. 14 Jahre.
