Passion fruit is a flowering tropical vine, known as Passiflora, that grows in warm climates, including South America, Australia, South Africa, and India. Passion fruit contains a soft pulp and lots of seeds inside a hard rind. People can eat the seeds and pulp, juice it, or add it to other juices. Passion fruit has recently gained a lot of attention because it is a rich source of powerful antioxidants and may also have other health benefits.

Passionate for Passion Fruit!
While visitng Hawaii a few years ago, my wife and I were shown how to use their fresh passion fruit (lilikoi) to put over our fresh Hawaiian red papayas. We love passion fruit, but they are expensive, and are carried inconsistantly by our grocers, which is why we were thrilled to see them offered on Amazon.Frieda's Passion Fruit, from Florida, arrived promptly, fresh and plump, in a carefully packed box which included a nice note and a few extra fruit...delicious! I will order again and often from Frieda's because of their excellent product and service: great job Freida's!

Not a good product
I’m a passion fruit lover. I received green not purple. Once they were ripe and wrinkled like they are supposed to be they were very dry and bitter, not good at all.

Passion Fruit Needed Instructions
The fruit was amazing!!! I have never had passion fruit before so it was a treat and a mystery. The fruit were packed in a simple box with crumpled brown paper. The fruit was wrinkled and looked dehydrated. There was a strange smell coming from the box. I thought the fruit may be rotten, but they weren't. I put them in my fruit basket where some of my family thought they smelled bad, but when you smell them up close...amazing! It is like nothing I have eaten in the US!I didn't know how to open them, how to eat them, what was edible, when they're ripe, etc. So I had to watch a bunch of YouTube videos and read articles to figure all this out. Adding a one sheet paper with these instructions would have been helpful. Such as: this is how the fruit should look, this is how the fruit should smell, this is how to cut into the fruit, this is what you eat, don't eat this, here are a couple of recipes, here's how you could preserve the fruit for later, this is how you know when it's ripe, and this is how you should store your fruit. The product was great though once I figured out how to eat them. Smells a little like grapefruit or citrus. Looks like orange juice once you scoop out the fruit. The flavor and smell are heavenly. It also has edible seeds. I did not mind them. They were crunchy and easy to eat. It does look like slime or a pulverized kiwi. My kids did not like the slimey texture. I wish I knew how to preserve the fruit and cook with it. It would make an amazing dessert or meat marinade. I only ate this product raw, but it was delicious every time. Expensive, but worth it to try a tropical fruit that we do not get in our US grocery stores.

They’re all under ripe and sour
Passion fruit is my favorite fruit! Been eating it for years. But when I moved to a small town in Michigan, it was hard to find. Been craving it’s unique, fragrant, sweet flavor. I was so excited when these arrived, packed nicely in a box and came by USPS. I cut one open and it was like eating a sour lemon. So I wanted a couple of days for them to ripen and tried another. Sour! I know they don’t really ripen off the vine much but I’m hoping that they’ll ripen a little. It’s been 5 days and still super sour.

Impressive!
Pleasantly surprised! At first, I was skeptical about the product because the packing could use a little bit of extra care, despite being labeled as perishable and fragile, the fruits were placed loosely inside the box and, oh boy, USPS package care is what it is, horrible, but... the fruits had just little blemishes! As a Brazilian, I was used to get the best passion fruits in the weekly Street market. These ones did not disappointed! I will definitely order again! Oh, don't let the size fool you: the larger yellow fruits are bigger, but the pulp is smaller than these ones! I was really impressed. Hope I don't get disappointed when reorder.
