Islamic Finance For Dummies Review: Highly Recommend for All Curious Readers and Beginners of Islamic Finance! - If you are interested to learn more about Islamic Finance (professionally or personally), I highly recommend that you get this book. It is a book that was thoughtfully written with the audience in mind - some history, industry insights are explored as well which gives the reader a better frame of reference. I read this book alongside an online course in Islamic Finance - the online course provides solid technical knowledge of Islamic Finance (all the how-tos) and this book provides real-life applications, how Muslim countries developed and practiced Islamic Finance which helped me appreciate and cross-check everything that I had learn in the online course. There were many moments where I had said, "Wow!" because I was so impressed by Islamic Finance - thank you to the author for bringing them to light in the most engaging way, that it made me feel proud for being Muslim, and hope to contribute to Islam through Islamic Finance, in sha Allah. Review: No other book on Islamic Finance comes close...NONE - I just recently completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Finance Banking and I did in fact purchase many books on it. Brian Kettell's books are a waste of time. This book was not only informative it answered MANY of the questions I had to answer on my exams. While there are many books on the minutiae of Islamic Finance and Sharia Law concerning Islamic Finance this book covers it all. For all practical purposes if you cannot afford an MBA or Post Graduate Certificate in Islamic Finance just simply by this book and SAVE thousands of Dollars. Enough said.

Adequate content, low price and prompt delivery.
I picked up snippets of reference to Islamic Financing and thought knowledge of the subject might help me better understand the stakeholder model of corporate governance. I listened to lectures on Islamic Banking and Financing from iTunes U, but because of the way I learn and the terminology specific to the subject matter, I needed a print supplement. I googled Islamic Financing for Dummies and found there actually was one so I bought it. It is fully adequate for my requirements at this time. The book was new and inexpensive. I received it promptly. I couldn't ask for more.

pretty good intro to islamic finance for those interested in improving their understanding. I personally am using this book to increase my understanding of the basic concepts to help me begin investing in Islamic markets. I come from a non finance background and feel like it is not a difficult read. I took off one start for redundancy.

Good introduction to Islamic finance concepts
Good introduction for the casual reader. It certainly has flaws: 1- The books is very repetitive, there is absolutely no need to repeat the definition of Mudaraba, Musharaka… etc every single time they are mentioned. There is no need to keep reminding the reader what pbuh is for so many times. 2-Not enough real life examples. For example the author mentioned that when the investor put his money in the bank based on profit and loss sharing contract there is a chance he will lose the money ( but also mentioned that doesn’t usually happen) could have elaborated more. I wasn’t interested in reading about different banks in Malaysia or GC, I wanted to see how the average Abdullah deal with his bank as a real life example. 3-I recommend not reading it cover to cover. Look at the chapter topics. A lot of them can be skipped. 4- Lack of details about a lot of topics. And not enough information for ~350-page book This book can easily be edited to at most ~ 150 pages only. Thank you for a good read

I cannot agree with many 5-star-reviewers. In my opinion, the book only touches the surface and does not explain the economic body and background of Islamic Finance. It just throws in some Islamic principles that you can google anyway. But it does not explain how banks would deal with a currency, with endogenous money, etc. I was pretty disappointed.

this is a great book for someone who has very little knowledge from Islamic banking. It provides an insight from a western approach, thus making it easier to understand and slowly it guides us to understand the practices and rational of Islamic banking. A great and easy book to read!

A useful book for beginners. I think it will help to dispel the negativity surrounding the word 'sharia' . The non-Muslim reader will finally understand the moral and ethical implications of a value-based financial system. I enjoyed reading this book.
