Use it as intended
I have two of these regulators. The feature I really like is the voltage display and the icon showing that the solar panel is charging/maintening the battery. Before you connect it make sure your battery is charged and not at the end of its life cycle (you can verify that by trying to charge it with a 12V battery charger, if it won't charge, you need to replace it). Most likely you are using it with a small solar panel to keep your battery charged hence in that mode do not connect it to an object that will draw amps unless it is sunny and you are on site to monitor, in my case I connect it to my GPS and tablet while sailing, at the end of the day the lowest voltage I have seen is 12.5V, and the next day when sunny it went back to 13.7V as per the setting. When disconnecting the controler make sure you follow the order: solar panel then the battery.

great product
does what it is supposed to do - easy to installonly downside is the front cover is a relatively thin plastic and by touching it the LCD gets all messed up - no impact on the real functionality though
