Smooth
Happy I purchased these pencils for $11. Well worth it. Nice bright colors. Smooth and blend nice. Also no breakage. I use a dahle 133 sharpener.

Waste of money.
I bought these based off the positive reviews, but, sorry I did. At a reduced price of less than $12 for 48 they are still a poor choice. When attempting th o lay down even 1 light coating in coloring book they make their disaster purchase evident. They skip and leave white spots all over the page. Even when lying down 2 layers. Also when attempting to burnish they leave ditches in the final layer of color. They Do Not lay down smoothly. They seem more like a cheap was pencil then an oil pencil. And for those that think they are as good as Schpirerr Fabens or even FC they are WRONG. Poor quality that behaves like a preschooler colored pencil, not even a Student grade. Pigment doesn't matter when the quality is this poor.

Not Impressed and Disappointed
When these arrived, I had just finished a picture using my Schpirrer Farbens, Marco Raffines & Prisma Premieres. Based on the reviews I read on “Best Colored Pencils” I was expecting these Marco Renoirs to be at least as good as those. I am not an artist, but these are not creamy nor do they lay down easily or blend easily. If I could return them I would. Do oil pencils get old or has the manufacturer changed? I see these were made in Shanghai. I gave them 3 stars for the color range in the set and for the packaging. Sorry I spent my art budget dollars on these!

Wow! My new favorite pencils.
These pencils are amazing they are super! They are creamy and lay down nicely. Not only are they perfect for pressure shading or layer shading in a single color but also layer nicely with multiple colors. The colors are nice and vivid with lots of pigment. If you're looking for a more pastel look, just use a very light hand and they look fabulous that way also. I have no complaints about these pencils except perhaps I'd like to have names. But that's a little obstacle to overcome for such a great smooth pencil.

Relatively inexpensive for good pencils
These pencils aren't too expensive and are creamy and blend well! Nice range of colors in the 48-set. These are oil-based, but not nearly as hard as Polychromos.

Love these pencils!
Nice case. Smooth pencils. Going to take some getting use to as i am use to, but i love the colors and not having to press hard. Will definitely buy these again
