Really interesting--I'm not sure my kids can handle the Donner Party yet though
I guess I probably wouldn't have bought the book (yet) if I had known the Donner Party made it in. My kids are too young to handle that. If yours can handle it, then you may like this book. There is a lot of other interesting information.

Good Book
I thought it was for adults, more for children, but it's still very interesting and informative. Go visit the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center inBaker City, to see an amazing museum regarding the Oregon trail.

very good book for younger people
This is a well written book with many good pictures to support with the story. I recommend it for young children.

Frank, well-organized look at life on the trail
A lot of good, unbiased information packed into these few pages, as well as suggestions for further print and electronic resources. Well organized in its sometimes frank presentation of what it would have been like to travel the trail. The table of contents is well done, and words bolded throughout the text can be found in the glossary.
