Complete Shakespeare

LOVE this book! It doesn’t go too in depth, but has been an excellent way for me to introduce Shakespeare to my boys. We homeschool and use it often. The customer service is great, too. The first book we received was broken but the return process was simple and our new book is wonderful. Very happy with this purchase!

Spectacular addition to my children's education. We paired this with a Britbox subscription for all the BBC complete works of Shakespeare performances. It's honestly been a life-changing experience for my whole family.I only wish they'd given full treatments for all the plays, instead of brief summaries of quite a few. But I understand the book is already heavy so the decision to abbreviate was necessary. The illustrations aren't as charming as the hand-painted water colors in the original Usborne Illustrated Shakespeare. But they're more than adequate to get the point across.The writing is very pleasing, getting most of the important elements of the story and even a handful of direct quotes from the original play. Each play has its dramatis personae illustrated with little blurbs beneath each picture. My kids have loved this. Thank you Usborne!

We love this book! We have been dabbling in a little Shakespeare in our homeschool. It has been fun and so helpful to have the fun and engaging illustrations and the breakdown of characters and story in this book. The book is high quality and the design inside is high quality too. I highly recommend helping kids (and parents, too) become acquainted with Shakespeare's stories before diving into plays themselves. My 5th grader read through the whole book alone, too!

I bought this a a reference book for my grandchildren. As they are reading various Shakespearean plays for school, this is a great reference book. Each play has a good summary and a list of characters for easy consulting. I also read the summaries so I can help the kids when they are writing essays based on the plays.

My kids absolutely love this book! I feel like when they get to Shakespeare in high school, they won’t be too intimidated because of the fond memories of reading this book together.

Shakespeare Summer reading!We purchased this as an introduction to Shakespeare for our elementary school aged kids. This is a great way to familiarize them with the plot of Shakespear's plays, in a condensed format.I especially like the illustrated page at the beginning of each story that introduces the cast of characters.

I've intended to buy this book for my homeschooled kids since it was published, but since we're currently studying the Roman republic and empire, I decided now would be a good time to introduce Julius Caesar.This book literally just arrived in the mail an hour ago, and already my 7-year-old bookworm is excited to read it. It's a beautifully designed book with gorgeous illustrations and important quotations--the ones I had to know for my college Shakespeare class 20 years ago--featured in gorgeous font on its pages.I've had this book in my homeschool wish list for a while and finally jumped on it when its price decreased about $7, but it's worth it at the $35 price. Don't hesitate.
