Better than expected, quality item for the professional
I bought this timer for both myself and clients to stay on track of my sessions. I"m a holistic practitioner and angel/spiritual worker who runs sessions, classes, private events, and long distance work. In the past I had to keep an eye on the clock or my watch to keep track of the time which felt awkward and many times I'd run over session times by 10 to 15 minutes, which was my fault for not watching the clock! I dont' mind helping my clients with extra time but some would also take advantage of my generosity and with a timer, I can decide if I want to go over or not with their time. With this timer, I can use it for all my services, particularly the events I run where I work with people for 15 minutes each. For private events I give 15 minutes of time, however often it would run over to 20 to 30 minutes of time because either I was focusing on them in their time of healing (and not looking at the clock) or they were asking questions. But this extra 10 or 15 minute for each person would turn into 2 or 3 more hours of time I spent at the event that I didnt' need to = loss of income and time on my end. So I looked for a timer on Amazon to find a way to gently and respectfully tell each client whether in session, a class, or an event that their time was up with an audible reminder. I looked at many products but the selling point for me with this product was the belt clip and the options for either vibration or an alarm, which many other timers did not offer. The timer itself is very nice looking, a quality and solid item, with large display numbers which are easy to read. The timer is compact and I love the fact that I can clip it on my pants so I can also wear it walking around the table or when speaking publicly and want to stay within a time limit to finish off. It will remind me it's time to stop without me having to look at the clock, which I cannot always do and is also awkward when people are talking to you. I will most likely use the vibration feature as it's loud enough for others to hear, but not too loud, and I dont' want to shock my clients when they are in deep healing talking, or resting on my table. The best part of the timer is that it's so easy to use. Just pull the battery tab on the back and it's ready to go! Use the top of the unit to adjust to either the vibration or the tone option for the timer. Press the amount of minutes or hours you want and then start then it begins the countdown. It takes just a few seconds to start and it not complicated at all to operate. I'm busy and on the go and don't have time to waste fidgiting with a timer. You can stop it and clear it anytime to restart. This is perfect for me with a large group of people. I've already tried it for myself when taking a nap or doing a project to keep on track of the time. I love it so much, I plan to buy one for my personal life too and to remind my son to get off his Xbox when I tell him he has an hour to play and for him to know I'm timing him too so he doesn't say "Mom, I just started a few minutes ago" knowing full well that at my age, my memory is fading.. :0). Great product and definitely worth the cost no matter what your doing, this timer will work for cooking, projects, reminders for your kids, and as a professional timer for your business. I highly recommend it and am thrilled with this purchase and plan to buy a second one soon. Lauren Bortolami The Reiki Shoppe Bridgewater, MA

Pretty good timer
It's a pretty good timer. I use it to keep track of time while studying. Keeps my mind from wandering while studying. I use it often. I chose this one exclusively because of its vibrate feature! Affordably priced compared to alternatives, however, I wish it was made in the USA (for that price). I wish the size was a bit smaller, and the volume and vibration intensity adjustable. But nothing serious enough to complain about - yet. Display is pretty big. [UPDATE: Recently, I discovered a tiny programing glitch (I think), in that, on 3 occasions after stopping and starting the timer, the unit automatically went into clock mode and locked itself in that mode. So I had to reset it to use the timer mode again. Not a huge big deal, however, I do wish it had a adjustable time feature for convenience sake. Also, I wish it had an on/off switch so it doesn't stay on all the time and drain the batteries unnecessarily. [UPDATE (5/8/2012): Con: The clip needs better teeth/grip to grab on to a belt or clothing. When attached to my belt, it inevitably fall off - always. Upon examining the clip, I discovered that the teeth are not that deep so they don't bite/clamp on tightly. Consequently, the unit has fallen off several times. I also discovered that the clip had a tiny piece broken off as a result of one of the falls! I no longer clip it to my belt, but just put it in my pocket. Minor inconvenience.] The parts are a little cheap (typical of Chinese made). Would still recommend it especially if you're on a shoe string budget. [UPDATE 9/17/2012: Lately, it has been acting a bit retarded in that it resets itself, or it turns itself off, or it turns to clock mode all on its own. I think this is as a result of the different falls it suffered due to the slightly weak clip/stand mechanism over the course of 14 months! The only option that works when it does that is to reset it. A bit inconvenient and slightly annoying. I think for the next one, I might try to save up and buy a sturdier model preferably one that's made right here in the USA.]

Nice and loud
This is a straight forward, digital timer. Pros: 1. It's easy to enter the desired hours or minutes. 2. The beeping is loud enough that I can hear it in the basement or second floor of our house. I even heard it over my husband's drilling racket! I used to have to carry my timer with me around the house in order to hear it. I don't need to do that with this one. 3. After a minute of beeping, if I haven't shut it off, it continues to give an intermittent beep until it is shut off. Cons: 1. I don't really need the buzzing feature. To me it's annoying, and it actually moves the timer on the counter top. 2. No magnet on the back, which I prefer for securing to the stove or fridge. 3. If I hit the wrong buttons to stop and reset the timer, it freezes. I have to take the batteries out of the back and reinsert them to get it working again. It's not difficult to do, but is annoying. So it does what it's supposed to do with a few glitches.

Useful and convenient
This product has a lot of useful features. Size is big enough to use it at home and small enough to take it travelling. Sound is loud enough and cannot be missed. This is a great value for older persons to not forget something on gas range. It can be used even as loud alarm-clock in the morning. Plus, it is very reliable. I bought previous item several years ago and I use it up-to-now every day.

Fails to work after a few uses
The timer worked well for a few weeks. Then it became a useless piece of junk. Whenever a key was pressed the timer would show 88888 on screen and beep continuously until the batteries were removed. When the batteries were reinserted the constant beeping would continue. Not a good product.

Excellent choice if you want to have an alternative to noisy alerts
Love that you can choose between beeping alarm and the much quieter vibrating alarm

It's just what I needed!!! As someone who is pursuing a deeper relationship with Father God, I needed a gadget that will help me to focus on Him more. So when it buzzes,I turn my focus on Him in worship/thanksgiving, wherever I am. I would have prefered it to have a vibrate only option but no biggie. And another thing, it does not have an ON/OFF button, which is a negative because it's a waste of battery if I forget to take them off completely when I'm not using it. Otherwise I'm happy with it and a few people who have seen it and understood what I used it for, have said they want it too.

It vebrates or rings. Loud rings. For a long time, less than 15 minute, maybe 10 minute. I never really took the time to check precisely. Can set the timer for up to 99 hours. The best.

Very handy loud for noisy environment and kitchen use and vibration for close proximal use
