If you sre interested in whales, this is a book to start with.

I got this for research. It’s spot on. Very fun while teaching everything about the cetaceans.

Arrived on time, in perfect shape. I'll use it to further educate myself about these wonderful animals... and to improve my photography skills. Great for when the grandkids come to visit, too.

This book is even better than I anticipated. So glad I bought it!

Beautiful book with great knowledge and pictures! Very large and HEAVY!

Full of beautiful photos, with comprehensive, easy-to-understand information about whales, dolphins, and porpoises from every ocean (and some rivers and lakes!) The stories from researchers add a personal touch and are a wonderful way to dive deeper into the science. A great inspiration to take action to protect these amazing creatures and their homes.

I would not call this an encyclopedia. I wanted to read about Gray Whales, for example, but the short entry about Gray Whales is mostly about the researchers who have studied them; there's no info about what Gray Whales eat, gestation periods, lifespan, historical Unusual Mortality Events, or other similar info one would expect in an "encyclopedia." I'm quite disappointed by the lack of informative content. The pictures are beautiful.Similar to what others have said, this book was poorly packaged. Mine arrived with just superficial abrasions on the jacket so I decided to keep it.

Although the book is beautiful, it probably won't come that way. It took us 3 tries before I got an acceptable one. I gave this as a gift and was very disappointed when it came damaged. I ordered a new one, and although it wasn't as damaged, it looked like a factory second, and was also damaged. The third book was acceptable and my grandson loved it. It was packed so poorly. Bubble wrap around it would have solved the problem. Even though I spoke with a service rep after the 2nd book came damaged, and the packing of it was discussed, no change occurred in the way it was packaged.

Came on time and in perfect condition. Has very good quality and is very sturdy. Small in size but not tiny along with being a little heavy. Very informative about everything whale related. I recommend it to anyone who loves whales and learning about them.

If you are a cetaceans/whales enthusiast then this is the book for you, lots of pics and information to get your teeth stuck into

Bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. Beautiful photos and tons of info! Highly recommend this book!
