If you are not going to use the entire block in one application, buy a smaller quantity.
Although I rate it as 3-star, I do so as a highly inconvenienced buyer because of the packaging and no warning. I must admit that it rapidly absorbs water. It has a lovely "feel," no unusual odors (such as moldiness) either. There is just one problem. I had to take it outdoors and use a hammer and chisel and face mask to get the approximate amount I needed for a 10 x 20 microgreen tray! Messy, inconvenient, etc. I really wish I had been warned about buying a bulk product which is so very very hard and impossible to break into pieces. For those who do want to use the entire block at one time, however, like in an outdoor garden, there would be no problem at all. Meanwhile, my microgreens do love the product. I am writing this warning as I look for this same product in smaller sizes suitable to my needs! I feel this product is VERY clean, a quality which is not easy to find. I think I will use the rest of the block in that outdoor garden I suggested.

Good value for a little more than 2 bags of dirt
Wonder Soil Expand and Plant is a great part of your soil mix. I do 5 parts of this product, 1 part compost, 1 part rice hulls or perlite. It is mild enough to start seeds or take plants full-term. It is a high porosity product meaning that it drains freely, but you have to water it more often. The value is good- it ends up being a little more than 2 bags of dirt when it is expanded.

What you should know how it’s different
I got everything looks good I’m happy. Wonder soil in Las Vegas does a unique job on their Coco The only Coco that has added micro riser worm castings few other things benefits of rock dust. There’s a cool video on YouTube about the company in the process until they take their time.

It will kill your seedlings
I am experienced gardener and I always start my seeds in my own mix, this year I decided to try the "Wonder soil", the results were far away from to be wonder... Tried one cucumber, one bell pepper and one tomato. Seeds germinated fine, but development at first was slow, and after couple weeks all three plants started to yellow even before true leaves appear. That was no point to keep them any longer. As plants were to young too need any fertilizer I suspect the coir in the mix is not washed properly and contains large amount of salt. I really not sure if I should use it even as coir in my own mix after washing the salt out or just throw it away. ... The appearance of the "soil" resembles 100% coir, I can't recognize any worm castings in it as well as any other additions, like slow release fertilizer.
