Well worth the money but not completely thought out..
For under $30, this is a quality marking gauge. The primary locking nut at the back locks it in tight and prevents any movement. The micro adjust is fairly good too with about 1/64in play.. though I don't think the manufacturer really thought it through. Kinda hard to explain the mechanics in text but there really should have been a groove in the rod for the locking screw on the side of the face piece to ride on. This would prevent the face from rotating freely and instead allow movement only along the length of the rod. The middle barrel is what you should be rotating, which pushes out the parts on both sides of the barrel to get the microadjustment. But because there is no groove, all 3 parts of the microadjustment trio rotates freely. And with one hand holding it and the other to adjust, you really can only rotate one part of the trio at a time. This makes it very clunky to use as intended. You end up just turning one part of the microadjustment (for me, it's the face) to set the depth. And while this works fine to do the adjustment, this type of design isn't intended to work like that. Also, the cutter with the bearing isn't as tight as I'd like. There's a little bit of play. But it comes with a fixed cutter which I swapped out for. In the end, regardless of its idiosyncrasies , it's a fine marking gauge.

Cool design but....
Saw this marking gauge and thought it was pretty unique. Needed a second marking gauge so I went ahead and bought it. My biggest problem with it is the spinning cutter wheel. If it was fixed in place it would cut a marking line a whole lot better and would get the full five stars. Overall it's a quality tool that will last a long time. Here are some pros and cons.Pros- Well made good quality tool- Glides smoothly along the workpiece- Extra cutter wheel and screwdriver to replace it- Interesting design that makes you want to try it out.Cons- The marking wheel spins too freely and barely leaves a mark. I tried it in soft pine.- The mark is not even deep enough for your pencil to ride in it to make the line easier to see.- There is about a 32nd of play in the wheel so when you run it back and forth it can put several marking lines- To correct the problem you have to slightly tip the marking gauge so that it puts more pressure on the wheel. This causes the gauge to not accurately ride along the edge of the board.- To lock the micro adjuster down you have to screw the knurled knob in opposite directions. Kind of like the depth adjuster on my drill press. This causes the gauge's face to move a little bit, even after locking the face down, when using it to set the exact width of the board you are scribing. If the wheel was fixed in place it would solve nearly all of the problems with this gauge. If the micro adjuster stop was a one step process instead of two then all the problwms would be fixed. The slight movements are just enough to frustrate you when making handcut doevtails.

This thing is excellent
I was very surprised at how great this was. The machining on it is fantastic at this price. The fine adjustment screw moves very smoothly and the threads are well made and tight. The finish on the parts is excellent. Good solid anodizing colors. The blades are super sharp. Ignore the reviews that say it doesn't have a way to fix the blade. It comes with two blades, one with a ball bearing in it that allows it to roll. Another comes with just a screw the will fix it so it is stationary and doesn't roll. The scale on it isn't great but just use a ruler to set it and you will be fine. The markings on the tool are small (for my eyes) and hard to read. And the inch scale is not in typical fractions which makes if VERY hard to use in any case. Aside from that small issue, I love this thing.

Does the job and easy to use.
I already had one of these that has the two rollers at the other end for curves. I bought that for next to nothing from Wish Dot Com, and was not expecting much, but it turned out to be incredibly good quality. However it did not have the screw adjustment for fine control, and is just a bit unwieldy, so I ordered this version. It works very well, and I love the fine adjustment. It is also turning out to be my default marking gauge for 95% of situations. Call me shallow, but I kind of like that red anodized finish as well. :-)

Shipping
I received the marking gauge in a very large box along with a marking gauge for dovetails. The tube contain the marking gauge came in was broken open on both ends, the marking gauge and the contents were loose in the box and the screwdriver was missing the metal component and the plastic handle was broken. The box size would have held a router-way to big for this small tool. The gauge works well and the screwdriver is not a necessity. Just glad the small locking screw and extra blade didn't fall out of the box.

Unique Freewheeling ball-bearing cutter
I've used a number of different marking gauges over the years, from the very simple and crude to the complex and precise heirlooms. This marking gauge qualifies as the later. This gauge rivals top shelf gauges made by tool makers such as Veritas and Tite-Mark by Glenn Drake. This marking gauge is unique from the others with an included ball bearing cutting wheel as well as a fixed cutting wheel. This allows for marking on any type of wood with consistent results. The other great thing is the price. I find the price to be 50% to 75% less then marking gauges with like qualities.

high quality
Ive never owned a marking gauge before, but I have been woodworking for about two years now and decided to go with this one because of the micro adjust feature. Material is high quality, and fit and finish are exceptional for the price. I did not expect it to be so nice, work so smoothly or be as accurate as it is. Also, the packaging was very nice, I actually laughed because it came packaged like a good bottle of scotch lol. Id buy it again.

J'ai mis pas mal de temps à comprendre comment avoir la fonction micrométrique.Bon !!! on y arrive, mais ça aurait été plus simple avec une notice digne du produit et en français

Love it, love it!
Incredibly well-made and super accurate. It feels quality, glides with ease and scores exactly where it needs to. It is now one of my show tools, in that I like to have well-made tools on show in my workshop (I do use them), this now sits alongside my Marples, Stanley planes, and Axminster calipers & rulers.
