POC Spine VPD Air Backpack 13

Firstly, the main thing - I found the bag to be comfortable to wear, doesn't move around, and so far I have used it for MTB rides up to 2 hours. I did find at times the straps felt like they were digging in but a quick adjustment so they are sitting in a slightly different place every 20 mins or so sorted that. I think that is because the "bulk" of the straps is down the edges as the middle is breathable mesh, meaning the edges dig in a bit more than if it was a solid strap. However, I would take the breathability it offers rather than change the strap.It has loads of storage room. I take a lot of stuff riding (everything but the kitchen sink) and it easily fits a 2L bladder, spare tubes, first aid kit, some tools, some sandwiches etc and had lots of room to spare. The little pouches on the bottom of the straps are handy for small items.It has two secure side zipped pockets which are good for things like your phone/wallet etc.I feel it could be even better with more space management solutions in the main bag space to make best use of the space, or maybe divide it into two main pockets. Within the main space it has a slide in pocket for your bladder, one other small slide in pocket and a couple of smaller ones for tools etc, and then the rest is one space. I think a few more compartments/dividers could help but that is probably personal choice. I also feel the helmet holder is a bit of a wasted opportunity. It is an open flap with buckles at the top, so it is perfect for holding a helmet (as you'd expect!), or you could scrunch a top or something into it. However, many people won't need it for that so a simple addition of a zip or velcro at the top would mean it is a handy 2nd storage compartment for smaller items as well. Personally, I will be adding some velcro to turn it into that.Would I buy it again - yes.
