A Little Paper Caper

Interesting Storyline
I had not checked the details, this is HARD book. Or a cardboard book. A paperback book would have been nicer to have since my daughter is older. The story is fun to read and the illustrations tell more of the story than the words. She hasnt started to read yet, but this is a little bulky for her to hold even in its small size. The author's books are an automatic buy for me at this point and we are glad for the book.Just wish the listing was a little clearer about the size and whether it was a paperback or not.

Interesting concept of investigation and paperplanes. Suggests idea os reforestation. But few things are a problem in all OJ books. Things are unreal. Eg, deer and goose and other animals don't live in burrows underground. How to explain this idea of animals living in their respective burrows. Also, characters make a very quarrelsome lot. which is a spoiler.

The illustrations are good but the details are too small that a young 4 year old can easily miss. The written content is so little that often i had to explain the plot and story to my son.

Lovely pictures but not a clear message
Pictures are lovely but the moral of the story is washed over at the end. It touches on some lovely topics about sharing and caring for the environment but I had to really add lots to it so my pre school class could get the best out of it!

LOVE
Love this book - but then I love all Oliver Jeffers books. I particularly like the humour in this where the reader knows what's going on, but the characters in the book don't.

Top Year 3 Resource
Wonderful story full of excellent 'mystery genre' vocabulary and clues. Excellent text to use for mystery story writing in school.
