Heats up fast and holds that temperature while using it. The tip is holding up nicely, I've just used the fine tip for a project that requires soldering small wires to connectors and I haven't had any problems. The heat gun works nice for heat shrink tubing, that's all I've used it for so far. This soldering station is a good deal for the hobbyist.

Short story, this bundle does everything advertised and a perfect station for hobbyists. I've used this quite a lot since I purchased it 3 or so months ago and haven't had any issues. The included picks and tweezers are nice quality as well. The solder sucker is not very good though. The top half doesn't screw on, so it pops off frequently.

I have been using this soldering station for a while now and finally decided to write a review.It works, but if you are really interested in soldering, then I would encourage you to look into a better station. Previously I have only used those cheap soldering pencils that only had one temperature. The need to control the temps, the different tips, and the hot air station made this a really desirable replacement.I found that the temps were not very accurate, the tips were so-so at best, and the hot air station almost became a disaster story.Let me elaborate on that last part…. I was using the hot air station with one of the supplied nozzles, so that I could control where the heat was going. Eventually, the whole thing began to get red hot, smoke came from it, and it literally melted in my hand. It was a good thing I reacted quickly because it started on fire. I’m not going to entirely blame the station or the heat gun. There is a good chance that I had the temp too high or possibly the air set higher than it should, but as a first time user I didn’t know what it would handle.Best advice, keep the nozzle off or the air really low or you might burn down your house.About a year after purchasing this I ended up buying a higher priced Weller station for soldering. The Weller was about $100 and no hot air, but a much better experience.More questions just ask.

I would not sell it back, even if they gave me more money. The Air and Iron works they way I needed them too. I have nothing to be critical about. I just like it.

I decided to purchase this after it was recommended on a how to vid on You Tube. The solder gun does heat up but the solder tips are so cheap and thin they will not pass heat enough to effectively solder anything. I have tried tinning the tips, sanding them etc. It has almost ruined a crossover I am building and decided to share this review to warn others. You have to wonder if the unit was ever even tested by the manufacturer. Looks great, functions terribly. Maybe heat gun could be used as a hair dryer!

Can't beat the price. Any beginner in soldering should have this. The heat gun was amazing.

It is a nice compact solder work station. It does bring a lot of accessories and it works fine. Instruction, well, not the best but for the price I would said worth it. It is good for beginners and intermediate electronics work.
