Great smart band
This was my first smart band watch. I have a Garmin Forerunner 110 running watch, which I was very happy with so wanted to stay with Garmin. Having always worn dress watches for every day, I wanted to first get a small fitness band to see if it would just be a fad and if I would actually wear it, use it and find it comfortable enough to wear while sleeping to monitor sleep. I got the small Vivosmart 4 watch and loved it. I found it comfortable to wear both in the day and night. I like the Garmin Connect app and how it displays the information and find it useful for what I want to track: Steps, sleep, oxygen level (SPO2) As I then saw how useful and informative it was, for further health monitoring reasons (building up exercise after recovering from illness/surgery and monitoring sleep oxygen levels), I decided to progress to a Garmin Vivoactive 4s smart watch (found out these are the big round/square ones). I hadn't wanted to invest in one before knowing if I would wear/use/like it. But I still use the small Vivosmart 4 smart band for when I don't to wear the big smart watch, but still want to monitor steps, etc. e.g. going out for the evening, or if my big smart watch runs out of battery just as I want to go to exercise (have to remember to keep Vivosmart charged). So it still has its purpose and am still very happy with it.

Much better than fitbit!
If you are debating between this and a Fitbit, I would highly recommend the Garmin! I’ve purchased both and have found that this watch gives a much more realistic step count, is much easier to use and the app is much easier to navigate and gives you better tracking features. Only complaint is that the auto save feature when you are doing a run/walk can be frustrating as it stops recording your activity if you slow down your pace too much- sometimes this is good motivation to keep going!

Perfect to wear opposite your nice watch
Yes, it's a bit limited in it's function, but if you want a Garmin health tracker that's small enough to wear on your other wrist, while you wear your nice watch on your typical wrist, it's perfect.

Initially brilliant but deteriorated over time
When I first got this fitness watch I only had good things to say about it. It seemed to be a very reasonably priced fitness watch with features that you only see in higher end watches. I loved the O2 sats feature (especially in these crazy Covid19 times) and this continued to work. The steps tracking was fine at first but then it stopped recording steps, ie froze on 179 steps for 2 days. I reset watch and problem seemed to be fixed. Within a couple of weeks it did it again. Once again a reset seemed to work, however for the last couple of months (I've owned/used for 6 months in total) it required a reset every other day. When it did reset it often didn't want to reconnect to phone/app and I'd have to try numerous attempts - when it finally did connect it was frustrating as I would have completed the exact same process in same order but for some in unknown reason it would decide to work. I finally stopped bothering to reset and just observed the crazy step counting; despite being active all day, the watch would display random step counts throughout the day, including losing all the steps for the day up to 15 times a day. The sleep tracking seemed to work well but equally was intermittent towards the end. Manual exercise tracking seemed ok, particularly at first (when watch was losing all data several times a day or wouldn't be able to last a 45 minute workout). The automatic exercise detection feature was rubbish even in the first days of ownership. It would often record 10-15 "walks" a day of maybe 1-2 seconds long but it wouldn't recognise any actual walk of 3+ miles. The app and interface on phone was good. Finally, at night the narrow strap would roll as I moved around during sleep and cut off blood supply to my hand - this would account for some worryingly low oxygen saturation levels at night (I thought there was a genuine problem with me at first). On the plus side my husband got so sick of me taking about how annoying the fitness watch was that he bought me a Samsung Galaxy 3 watch which has (so far) been great.

Meh
I bought this because I wanted a watch that is compatable with my gym app and considering the price of branded fitness watches I opted for this for the price. It's not the best. Display is obviously tiny but that's ok. Value for money is questionable, like it's worth about 50 quid. Charging only takes a hot minute but the battery life is useless, I get about 3 days out of it. Accuracy is questionable, for example it is never on par with a kilometre on the thread mill, sometimes it hits the KM early and sometimes after. On the plus side the waterproofness is excellent, I am just back from a beach holiday and spent many hours in the sea. Also the sleep tracker seems to be spot on. Features are basic. At least once a month I have to re-pair my device to Garmin connect. Overall it's just OK.

Great tracker
Big fan of the previous version but after a couple of hard years usage, I decided to upgrade to the latest model while a sale was on. Overall this is a great device with all the stats, information and insight you need without Fitbit's premium prices. I do mostly gym and weights, so the workout tracking is good, as are step counting. I can't comment on other activities but works well for me. Especially like the new body battery, which feels pretty accurate. I'd recommend to anyone who wants a fitness tracker without inbuilt GPS or shaped like a watch. Probably the only negative for me is that the screen isn't as big as the last version, which means reading messages isn't as nice an experience.

7. Lesbarkeit/ Display: funktioniert ebenfalls wunderbar.

The second one I have purchased through Amazon (box from the Warehouse). The first one lasted about 2 years before the screen broke. This one is still going after 1 year. Like the Garmin app since the beginning; BUT with the new update there is some extra work to avoid/ignore the constant requests to upgrade to the new paid version; the original functions of the app still work (for now????) for free if one just ignores the constant advertising. It is "fit for purpose" being the smallest and lightest fundamental fitness trackers that provides phone notification integration. Though this design is some 6+ years old none of the newer Garmin designs since then have matched the size and weight of this one. This is also true of all other watch vendors none of whom are "fit for purpose" - all of them available are over engineered providing unwanted features will larger and heavier watches than this one. It needs battery charging every 1-2 days because of the battery size but because of the size it charges very quickly from a small purse size power bank. Recommendation: buy 1 try it out and if it works for you then buy a second one. This will future proof you unless Garmin move to a subscription only app. - a risk...but is Microsoft backed away from shutting off Windows 10 then Garmin will have a hard time in shutting off the free basic functions.
